Vince Vaughn was on Ellen Friday to promote his upcoming “comedy,” The Dilemma. He spoke at length about his new wife, Kyla Weber, and their newborn daughter, Locklyn, who was born in late December. Vince called his wife “the best girl in the world” and explained that she came into his life at just the right time for him to settle down. It was quite sweet actually.

Vince: Let me tell you something. I met the best girl in the world. It gives you such a great purpose in your life. If I would’ve met her, I would’ve done it a long time ago so I’m very, very happy.
Ellen: I agree with you. You need to meet that one right person.
Vince: It’s being ready for that too. And sometimes, in our industry, well, I speak for myself, maybe that’s an excuse but you don’t mature always at the same time so if I was very fortunate that when I got ready and was open to that, then that person came into my life
Ellen: So maybe if you would’ve met her earlier, then it wouldn’t have worked out. So you met her at exactly the right time.
Vince: Exactly. You have to be ready to receive that. No question.
Ellen: So you have the little baby. Were you in the delivery room when she was born?
Vince: I was.
Ellen: What’s her name?
Vince: Her name is Locklynn.
Ellen: We should start calling her by her name and not “the baby.”
Vince: She’ll have to learn. If I just call her “Baby” then she’ll love the movie “Dirty Dancing” but she won’t know her proper name. No one puts her in a corner. Laughs

It’s so nice when a celebrity reveals how special and meaningful their partner is to them, especially when it’s unexpected.

Showbiz Spy has more from Vince about the birth of his daughter, and he said that he was crying and was an “emotional wreck.” In in earlier interview, Vince enthused about the first time he went to a pediatrician appointment with his wife and their daughter, saying that they were “going to an appointment as a family. It’s just a great feeling.

I never thought we’d hear such personal details from Vaughn, because he just doesn’t seem the type to share that sort of thing. It’s clear that marriage and fatherhood have changed him – for now at least. Is it super bitchy to say that it will get old soon enough?
