Lindsay Lohan had a rough weekend. A warrant was issued for her arrest (erroneously), she had a major fight with girlfriend Samantha Ronson, cops were called… it was a lot of drama. Well, a lot of drama for you and me. It was just a typical night for Lohan.
Amid fears that Lindsay is going down yet another one of her typically destructive paths, Kim Kardashian has stepped in to defend her to People Magazine. And thank goodness for it. For the past few days, all I’ve been able to think about is, “I wonder what Kim Kardashian has to say about all this?”
Kim Kardashian is coming to Lindsay Lohan’s defense amid speculation that the troubled star is spiraling out of control – yet again. Kardashian’s concern follows a weekend for Lohan, 22, in which she was issued a short-lived arrest warrant and witnessed the arrival of police at girlfriend Samantha Ronson’s home on Saturday after a loud disturbance at the home led to a broken window.
“It’s so sad that there’s such an invasion of privacy, with camera people, cops and paparazzi outside their home,” Kardashian, 28, told PEOPLE Monday. “I mean, when have you not thrown something when you’re mad?,” says Kardashian. “Everyone has to admit that at one time in their life, they’ve gotten so mad that they’ve thrown something, but maybe not necessarily breaking a window.”
Can’t people have an argument without everyone watching?,” asks Kardashian, who recently came to the defense of another star, Jessica Simpson. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star also scoffs at buzz that Lohan, who has had previous stints in rehab, is spiraling out of control. “Just because she had an argument, I don’t think it means that she’s off track and that everything is crazy. It’s really just messed up that everyone blames her.”

You can definitely have an argument without everyone watching. Assuming you don’t break a window. If the argument gets loud and/or violent, people are going to watch – and they should. If they ignored it… I don’t even want to imagine what could happen. But if you have a fight of this caliber, people are going to pay attention, regardless of whether or not you’re famous. If cops show up, people notice. That’s not everyone else’s fault, that’s the fault of the people having the fight. In this case, some combination of Lohan and Ronson.
And to answer Kim’s question, it’s safe to assume a lot of people have never thrown anything in anger. I’m not going to claim I’m one of them – that’s what the petulant teenage years are for – but I would guess that the majority of sane, rational adults have never broken a window in anger.
The simple reality is that if you choose to be famous, people are going to notice when you mess up. Complaining about everyone noticing just makes them hate you more. If it’s a bother, then stop messing up.
