Predictably, the tabloids are trying to make something happen between Shia LaBeouf and “the new Megan Fox” - the new girl in the Transformers sequel, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Here’s the thing – I kind of buy this story. The Enquirer isn’t claiming that Shia and Rosie are hooking up, just that he has a crush and he’s been trying to charm his way into her Victoria’s Secret panties, but he keeps getting c-ckblocked by A) Rosie’s hunky boyfriend Jason Statham and B) Shia’s girlfriend Carey Mulligan.

Shia LaBeouf is falling for his sexy Transformers 3 costar, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, but there are two obstacles standing in the way of their romance – his girlfriend and her boyfriend! Shia has a history of romancing his leading ladies, including his current squeeze Carey Mulligan, and his former Transformers costar Megan Fox. But the 24-year-old’s latest on-set crush has landed him in hot water with Rosie’s beau, actor Jason Statham. And Carey isn’t thrilled either.

“Shia and Rosie clicked immediately, and everyone has been gabbing about what incredible chemistry the two share,” an insider told the Enquirer. A few weeks after filming began, Shia invited Rosie (23) to dinner at the Chateau Marmont, and they wound up lingering until the early morning hours.

A few days later, he sent her a bouquet of flowers with a note praising her for being such a wonderful friend and costar. But even though Shia insists his interest is purely platonic, Carey knows his track record and she’s livid, says the insider.

In fact, just before hooking up with Carey, Shia was putting the moves on Megan Fox. To make things even more complicated, Rosie’s boyfriend Jason warned Shia: “No more off-set meetings – or else!”

Added the insider: “Now it looks like Shia is getting wise and backing off Rosie.”

Is it true? I could see Shia not even acknowledging that he has a crush on Rosie and just trying to be nice to her, take her out to dinner, be a good costar and a gentleman, and somehow the plan went awry. And they boned. NO! Would Shia cheat on Carey? They seem to really adore each other, and more than that, Shia seems to respect Carey too much to cheat on her. Then again, Rosie has enormous lips and zombie eyes, and that seems to go over well with most men. But is Rosie into it? If you had Jason Statham at your beck and call…? Shia might seem like a nice little plaything, something fun, a nice diversion. But you’d go back to Statham.
