The National Enquirer is running a story this week about a rumor that Sarah Palin’s daughter Willow, age 16, is POSSIBLY pregnant. They’re not saying it’s for sure, they are, in my opinion, just printing a rumor, although I haven’t had the chance to read the full Enquirer story in the print edition. Here’s what the Enquirer claims:

SARAH PALIN has ANOTHER teen pregnancy scandal on her hands – and this time it’s BRISTOL’’s younger sister WILLOW! The former Alaska governor recently flipped out after learning that her 16-year-old daughter Willow was not only having sex, but feared she might be pregnant by her 18-year-old boyfriend, sources told The ENQUIRER.

“Sarah was shocked,” a close source divulged. “She felt like she was reliving a nightmare!”

According to the source, Willow began to panic when her period was a week late.

“She went out and bought a home pregnancy test and was on pins and needles,” divulged the source.

Okay, people… before you just jump down my throat, let me just say that I’m not happy to do this story AT ALL. I have mixed feelings about whether Willow Palin should be discussed whatsoever – on one side, I feel like underage children of any political candidate should be off limits, period, the end. On the other side, Sarah Palin isn’t really defined (solely) as a political candidate – she’s a reality star now, and her show features her children, including 16 year old Willow, and Willow participated in some of the media for the reality show too. So she‘s as relevant, gossip/celebrity-culture-wise, as one of the young Jenner girls (daughters of Kris and Bruce Jenner, half-sisters of the Kardashian women), who walk red carpets and are allowed to do press. If one of the Jenner girls got pregnant, wouldn’t it be news?

All of that being said, I doubt Willow is pregnant, and I think the Enquirer is really cheap for publishing the story if they didn‘t have any solid confirmations. And if she is knocked up, my guess is that she’ll go the Bristol route and become a “star” in her own right.
