Owen Wilson’s Mystery Girl Revealed!

Owen Wilson is stepping out with a new blonde stunner — and it’s not Jessica Simpson.

Usmagazine.com has learned that Wilson’s current squeeze is One Model Management catwalker Le Call, 25.

The pair (who met through friends) have been dating casually for several weeks but are seeing a lot of each other, a source close to Wilson tells Us.

“She’s a sweet girl with a great heart,” says the source. “She helps keep Owen grounded.”

Despite being photographed around the Big Apple, the troubled funnyman, 39, and Call, a Cape Girardeau, Missouri, native living in NYC, haven’t been hitting the club scene.

Adds the pal: “They enjoy biking and doing outdoorsy stuff.”

That’s a departure from Wilson’s flir–tation with Simpson, 27, with whom he was spotted in early November living it up at bars in Manhattan and Santa Monica, California.

Notes the source: “Owen needs someone like Le. She has been a great sense of comfort for him.”

Owen Wilson Returns

Of all the stars expected to attend last night’s L.A. premiere of new film The Darjeeling Limited, star Owen Wilson was certainly not one of them. And yet, there he was — only weeks after his suicide attempt — on stage with the film’s director Wes Anderson and co-stars Adrian Brody, Natalie Portman and Jason Schwartzman.

Though Owen skipped the traditional red carpet proceedings at the event, slipping into the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre via a private entrance, he did make a surprise appearance with the film’s cast and crew before the screening began. And while Owen didn’t say anything, frequent collaborator Anderson, who shared an Oscar-nomination with Wilson for their Royal Tennenbaum’s screenplay, did say about his troubled friend, “I’ve never made a movie without him, and I hope I never have to.”

In the film, Owen plays one of three brothers who set out on a spiritual quest aboard a train through rural India. This marks the fifth time he and college pal Wes Anderson have worked together on a feature film, dating back to their indie hit Bottle Rocket, which also introduced Owen’s younger brother Luke to film audiences.

Owen Wilson Leaning On His Pals

Owen Wilson is relying on a little help from his friends.

The actor — still recuperating after his August 26 suicide attempt — reconnected on September 30 with ex–gal pal Carolina Cerisola, a dancer at Hollywood’s Forty Deuce club. (“She freaked out when she heard about Owen attempting suicide,” a source tells Us Weekly.)

Cerisola isn’t Wilson’s only confidant: Steve Coogan, the actor pal and rehab veteran who took some heat for Wilson’s hard partying, visited him on September 27. Says an insider, “You can’t blame one man for another man’s problems.”

Another pal, director Wes Anderson, asks that people give Wilson space, telling New York magazine, “His life has changed so radically . . . and in ways that most people never have to deal with.”

Wilson’s friends believe that work will help him heal, and he is prepping for Marley & Me, which films next year. Says the source, “That’ll be enough
time for the dust to settle.”

Owen Wilson Skips Film Fest but ‘Doing Well’

Owen Wilson canceled appearances at the Venice Film Festival but is “doing well” and “making us laugh a lot,” says his longtime friend Wes Anderson.

“When he’s ready he’s going to speak for himself much better than anyone else could,” Anderson told reporters in Venice on Sunday. “He has a very good way with words.”

Wilson, 38, was hospitalized Aug. 26 after what a police log called an attempted suicide. He returned home over the weekend under close watch by family and friends.

Anderson was in Venice promoting the film he directed, The Darjeeling Limited, featuring Wilson with Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzman as three brothers taking a train trip across India. Wilson originally was due to appear in Venice.

“I just want you to know how excited I am to have the film showing here,” Anderson said at a press conference. “It means a great deal to me, and it also means a great deal to Owen, who wants me to express to you how much it means to him and to say that he wishes he could be with us.”

Anderson added: “We all miss having him here very much. Obviously he’s been through a lot this week but he’s doing well and he’s been making us laugh a lot.”

Owen Wilson Possibly Staying With Woody Harrelson

Though it has not been confirmed, OK! has heard from sources that actor Owen Wilson, who was hospitalized on Aug. 24 after a failed suicide tempt at his California home, has left the hospital and is staying with pal Woody Harrelson at his Beverly Hills home.

Adding credence to this rumor, Owen’s little brother and frequent co-star Luke Wilson was seen driving to the home of the former Cheers star, who is open about his own struggles with his personal demons.

These whispers of Owen’s whereabouts come shortly after false rumors that the Oscar-nominated actor/writer was to be transferred to Hollywood’s infamous Wonderland Center rehab clinic, where scandal magnet Lindsay Lohan had a failed attempt at getting clean and sober earlier in the year. And though Wonderland’s celeb-friendly, laid-back attitude may be tempting to Owen, a source close to the star dismisses the speculation with a laugh, saying to OK!, “I don’t think he’ll be going there!”

Courtney Love: I Tried to Warn Owen

Friends and family of Owen Wilson have been rallying around the actor after he attempted to commit suicide on August 26 by slicing his wrist and ingesting pills. They have also been trying to determine where it all went wrong.

“Owen started hanging out around the wrong people again,” says a source.

To wit: At least two sources blame British actor Steve Coogan. The party boy rehab veteran was Owen’s costar in Night at the Museum and Around the World in 80 Days.

“I went through it with Steve,” rocker Courtney Love, who dated Coogan, 41, until an acrimonious split in 2006, tells Us.

“I was just out of rehab, and he was right there with the drugs,” she says. “I tried to warn Owen. I tried to warn his friends … I hope from the bottom of my heart that Owen stays the hell away from that guy.”

Indeed, former girlfriend Kate Hudson, 28, “forbid him from letting Coogan into his house. She knew he was bad,” says another source. (Reps for Coogan did not respond to requests for comment.)

“The drugs and partying were a huge factor in the breakup,” says a pal of Hudson, who has a 3-year-old son, Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson. “As much as she liked him, she didn’t want to be around that” - especially given the fact that Robinson is a recovering drug addict.

Wilson’s loved ones worried so much about his dependence on hard drugs, Us has learned, that friend Woody Harrelson staged an informal intervention at his Hawaii home in May.

But Owen, 38, continued to withdraw and succumb to depression following his June split from Hudson, who is now dating Punk’d star Dax Shepard - which might have pushed Wilson over the edge.

“Seeing her happy with someone else made him happy that she’d found that,” says one longtime Wilson family friend, “but made him hate himself so much more that he could never do it.””

For more details on Owen’s downward spiral into depression, his recovery, and where he’ll go from here, pick up the new issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands this week.

Owen Wilson Drops Out of New Ben Stiller Movie

Owen Wilson has placed his acting career on hold as he recovers from his suicide attempt.

Wilson, 38, has dropped out of Tropic Thunder, a movie comedy for DreamWorks he was set to begin shooting in two to three weeks with longtime pal Ben Stiller, Variety reports.

Wilson’s role was due to take a week, according to the trade paper. Stiller – who is producing, directing and starring in the film – started shooting in Hawaii six weeks ago.

The decision for Wilson to sit out the project was apparently mutual between him and Stiller, and it is unclear whether Wilson will be replaced or if his role will be dropped from the script, says Variety.

Tropic Thunder involves a group of actors on the location set of a war movie who find themselves caught up in a real-life conflict. The comedy also stars Jack Black, Robert Downey, Jr. and Nick Nolte.

Wilson and Stiller, 41, have starred together in eight movies: The Cable Guy (1996), Permanent Midnight (1998), Meet the Parents (2000), Zoolander (2001), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), Starsky & Hutch (2004), Meet the Fockers (2004) and Night at the Museum (2006).

Wilson is currently in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after being taken there Sunday. In his only statement since then, the leading man has asked to be given the privacy to “heal.”

Neither DreamWorks nor Wilson’s reps have commented on the casting development.
