So maybe she isn’t Gisele Bundchen or Kate Moss.

Hayden Panettiere is OK with that.

“I don’t have a model’s body,” the Heroes star, 18, admits in the April issue of Cosmopolitan. “But I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m okay with what I have. I can rock this body, you know.”

What keeps her grounded? The actress (and whale rights enthusiast) says she skips out on clubbing.

“I think people look at me as just another one of those girls who’s going to screw up, like, ‘She’s going to get into drugs, and she’s going to get into parties,’” Panettiere says. “I have an occasional glass of champagne when I’m celebrating something, but generally, I don’t drink. I’m a pizza-and-a-movie girl.”

When it comes to choosing a mate, Panettiere (who’s currently dating co-star Milo Ventimiglia, 30) wants a man equally level-headed.

“I need somebody who is very secure,” she says. “In this business, I’m constantly standing next to gorgeous people.

“My job is to make out with [attractive] men. Like, hello, who wouldn’t be completely threatened by that?” she adds.“But, at the end of the day, you have to realize that it’s a job.”

Hayden Panettiere is out to prove you wrong.

While her contemporaries have struggled with the trappings of fame, the 18-year-old starlet is out to avoid being sucked into the sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle of the Hollywood social scene.

“I think that people look at me as just another one of those girls who’s going to screw up, like ‘She’s going to get into drugs, and she’s going to get into the parties,’” she tells Cosmopolitan in its April issue. “I have the occasional glass of champagne when I’m celebrating something, but generally, I don’t drink. I’m a pizza-and-a-movie girl.”

Is that a pizza and a movie with beau Milo Ventimiglia? Hayden and Milo, 30, have been dating since late fall, following her breakup with Laguna Beach’s Stephen Colletti, and while neither speaks of the relationship, the actress does hint about what keeps them together.

“I need somebody who is very secure,” she reveals. “In this business, I’m constantly standing next to gorgeous people. My job is to make out with [attractive] men. Like, hello, who wouldn’t be completely threatened by that? But at the end of the day, you have to realize that it’s just a job.”

The Heroes star also touched on her body image and proudly declares being comfortable in her own skin.

“I don’t have a model’s body,” she says. “But I’m not one of those crazy girls who thinks that they’re fat. I’m okay with what I have. I can rock this body, you know?”

Hayden Panettiere is a wanted woman after interfering with a dolphin hunt in Japan last month.

“I learned that they have an arrest warrant out for me in Japan,” the Heroes star, 18, told E! News Wednesday. “We just found out.”

Usmagazine.com has learned the warrant is for obstruction of commerce.

The actress, along with other activists, attempted to block a pod of dolphins from being led into a nearby cove for massacre by fishermen in the southwestern Japanese town of Taiji on October 30. The fishermen insisted hunting dolphins is a Japanese custom, and Panettiere had no business interfering.

To avoid arrest for trespassing by the Japanese national police, Panettiere said she fled to the Japanese city of Osaka and left the country immediately.

The actress released a statement about the arrest warrant on Thursday. “We can no longer hide behind out-dated, senseless cultural traditions and lazy, bad habits that are resulting in the annihilation of our planet’s resources and the extinction of our species,” Panettiere said. “As a spokesperson for the “Declare Yourself” campaign, I encourage everyone – particularly young people – to educate themselves on the candidates and their positions on environmental issues.”

She closed, “Every generation has its own challenge; this is the challenge of our generation.”

Devoted animal lover Hayden Panettiere joined a group of activists protesting a dolphin hunt in Japan yesterday – and got in a shouting and shoving match with Japanese fishermen.

The Heroes hottie, along with six activists from the anti-whaling animal rights group Sea Shepherd, attempted to interfere with a dolphin hunt off the coast of Taiji in southwestern Japan. Fishermen approached the boat carrying Panettiere and shoved some of the activists with long poles and shouted in the face of the protesters.

Panettiere was visibly upset over the experience. “This baby [dolphin] stuck its head out and kind of looked as us, and the thought that the baby is no longer with us is very difficult,” she said.

According to Hideki Moronuki, chief of the waling section at the Japanese Fisheries Agencies, “Whales and dolphins are traditionally being used (as resources) in Japan. In this light, we cannot accept an argument simply based on emotional causes.”

Around 14,000 dolphins are killed in Japan each year.

For weeks now, handsome Heroes co-stars Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia (now known collectively as “HayLo”), have been sparking rumors of a relationship, with reports of her split from long-time beau Stephen Colletti, and the pair’s closeness at various events. One friend of Milo has revealed to OK! that “they’re definitely dating.”

And though the couple has done nothing to confirm the rumors, one Heroes insider spoke directly to OK! about the headlines.

“Everyone’s asking about them!” jokes Jimmy Jean-Louis, who plays the mysterious often-mute “Haitian” on the hit NBC show. “I see them on set, they do what they need to do and then they move on.” But Jimmy does admit that HayLo would make for a pretty couple. “It would be nice. They’re both very cute, you know?”

Hayden Panettiere is back on the market.

Us Weekly has learned the Heroes hottie, 18, and her boyfriend of one year, Laguna Beach alum Stephen Colletti, 21, have gone their separate ways.

But the actress (who spent the end of August promoting Heroes in Europe with costars Milo Ventimiglia and Adrian Pasdar) seems to have moved on. When Us asked, “Where’s Stephen?” at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 9, she furrowed her brow and replied, “I don’t know. In California?”

Maybe it’s because she had time to adjust to the relationship being over. As a source tells Us, “Their breakup has been a long time coming.” But that doesn’t mean the former sweethearts are feuding. Panettiere tells Us, “We are still very close friends and talk to each other frequently. We appreciate and support each other’s careers.”
(Colletti’s rep could not be reached for comment.)

Who knew? One of Heroes star Hayden Panettiere’s superpowers: lactose tolerant.

The actress, who celebrated her 18th birthday on Tuesday with a party on the beach, is the latest mustachioed face of those “Got Milk?” ads.

“You don’t have to be a hero to feel invincible. That’s why I drink milk,” she says in the ads, part of a campaign to get teens to drink three glasses of low-fat or fat-free milk a day.

The ads, debuting Sept. 10, were shot in May by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz and show Panettiere in a sleek red dress holding an exploding glass of milk.

On Monday, the actress joked to David Letterman on his Late Show about her milestone birthday: “I don’t think much changes when you’re 18 – maybe the way people treat you. But I think the only things I can do is buy cigarettes, porn and, if I get in trouble with the law, I’m kind of screwed.”

Hayden Panettiere plans to celebrate turning 18 with a big party – and notes that the milestone also allows her to indulge in a few previously forbidden vices.

Asked by David Letterman on his Late Show Monday what the big birthday means to her, the Heroes star answered: “I don’t think much changes when you’re 18 – maybe the way people treat you. But I think the only things I can do is buy cigarettes, porn and, if I get in trouble with the law, I’m kind of screwed.”

After a momentary thought, she added that one additional bonus of being 18 is being able to tell her parents during a fight, “You can’t talk to me like that, I’m an adult.”

When Letterman expressed some disappointment in her response, saying that he was “hoping for something a little more inspirational,” and asked about the ability to vote, Panettiere said she planned to register on Tuesday.

The actress is getting involved with Norman Lear’s “Declare Yourself” campaign. As Panettiere explained, “It’s stressing how important it is to vote and to be part of your election, so I’ll be registering to vote.”

As for how she plans to celebrate her natal day, she said, “We’re going to have a big party. I think it will be me biggest party yet – except for when I was 2, my mom used to get the big [inflatable] Moon Bounces and we had a hell of a party.”

Hayden Panettiere will blow out 18 candles on Aug. 21, but her indestructible alter ego may have to wait a little longer to mark the legal milestone. The Heroes star tells OK! at a teleconference for the Emmy-nominated show that Claire Bennet has bigger things to deal with than a birthday cake.

“I have no idea yet if my character’s going to do that because we haven’t shot all that much,” Hayden says. “It doesn’t look like she’s hitting a milestone anytime soon, you know. She’s just struggling to get her life back or create a new one.”

As for herself, Hayden says she’ll be celebrating with some buddies.
