Delusional Sharon Stone is at it again. Now granted, this is not one of her worst delusions. She’s not telling earthquake victims that they got what they deserved nor is she wearing a puppy coat (as far as I can tell). In fact the issue at hand is that Sharon’s not wearing anything. Sharon posed topless for Maris Match magazine last month, and apparently it’s created quite the furor. How dare a 51-year-old woman bare her boobs! Sharon says age shouldn’t matter, and I absolutely hate myself for agreeing with anything that comes out of that woman’s mouth, but I’ve got to agree with her.

Sharon Stone has slammed critics and justified her decision to go nude at the age of 51. The Basic Instinct star recently stripped for the cover of French fashion bible Paris Matchin, which she wore nothing but bondage heels and underwear.

The beauty feels that age cannot be a determining factor in what she does. “Is there an age when you’re supposed to refrain from doing some things like showing your body? If someone is shocked by these photos that’’s a reflection on his own views on age,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

She added: “What these photos represent is nothing surprising to me, my life didn’t change at 50, I didn’t change. I don’t see where the provocation is. If I asked myself I probably wouldn’t have done these photos as I don’t consider myself provocative.”

[From OneIndia]

As much as I never thought I’d write this sentence, Sharon’s right. Her age is absolutely not why she shouldn’t pose nude. Nor is the fact that she has kids – it’s her choice. When I wrote our original article about her pictures, I never criticized her due to her age. Or her body. I criticized her deplorable personality. That’s why people are disgusted by the thought of her naked. Would you want to see the Wicked Witch from “The Wizard of Oz” in all her splendid glory? I’m not even talking about the green knockers. Which I’m sure are colder than a … you get the point. I’m sure Sharon’s are about that frigid too. No one is aroused by the site of a naked woman when she’s so ugly inside. Sharon could have the most fabulous body in the world. She could be 22 again. But as long she she’s got a soul made of tar, there’s no version of her flesh people are going to be aroused by.

Excellent example: Heidi Montag. Now 23-year-old Heidi is not as intentionally evil as Sharon, and doesn’t recommend that teenage girls give boys blowjobs to avoid being raped. But she’s got a terrible personality and is so unattractive in every way on the inside that there is no amount of perfection her body can achieve. She will always be sexless and borderline disgusting.

Sharon, if you’re not getting the accolades you were hoping for, stop deluding yourself into thinking it’s your age and thus everyone else’s problem. It’s your personality, and it’s only your problem.

Over a year ago it was reported that Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were interested in making another “Bad Boys” movie. Because the blow-‘em-up awesomeness of the first one and the all over craptasticness of the second one didn’t satiate their palates. Fourteen months later and there’s still little progress in terms of commitments from the film’s original stars and directors. Why? Well it turns out back in the day (and by “back in the day” I mean 1995) studios didn’t use clauses requiring the main stars to appear in sequels. They sure do now though. Regardless of that, Smith and Lawrence are said to still be behind the idea but haven’t come close to making anything official until they see a script. Same goes for uber-famous director Michael Bay.

I’ve got a hypothetical, one of those “tree falling in the woods”-type scenarios, to run by you. Can there really be a “Bad Boys 3″ if Jerry Bruckheimer, Michael Bay, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence aren’t involved? I say no.

That might just be a possibility however, as Peter Craig is busy putting together a script for Columbia Pictures while the franchise’s key players wait to see the results, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This isn’t unusual of course, though newer series’ get around this problem by locking the most important names into contracts spanning multiple movies. “Bad Boys,” which first snapped to action back in 1995, was conceived before it became common practice in Hollywood to write out franchise plans before the first movie hits theaters.

While THR reports that anyone who matters has expressed an interest in returning to the series, money will likely be a problem. Will Smith and Michael Bay especially will require some hefty contracts, giving how brightly their stars seem to be shining lately. And since bad boys Smith and Lawrence have already danced at this party twice before, I wouldn’t be surprised if some new blood were poured into the mix.

[From MTV]

Peter Craig, the film’s head writer, is Sally Field’s son. Which relates to nothing other than I’d really love it if somehow they managed to get her in the film for something totally inconsequential. Only for the unnecessary strangeness of course. When I was 14 I thought this was the coolest, best movie ever. One summer my little sister and I watched it every single day, along with Speed. As far as action movies go, I think it could have stood the test of time decently if they hadn’t made a sequel. Of course it’d be great if they could resuscitate the franchise with a really great third film.

In related news, the Rambo franchise is coming out with yet another sequel. Sylvester Stallone will be directing and starring in it. The film’s plot “revolves around Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border” according to Variety. I’m assuming a lot of things will be blown up in the process, and Stallone will be forced to flex what’s left of his still-formidable muscles. Lots of army-print attire will also be worn, along with wife beaters and torn up bandanas around the forehead. But other than that, it’s going to be entirely brand new.

Atlanta Falcons vs St. Louis Rams pre-season football

Former Miss California (and Perez Hilton bête noire) Carrie Prejean is so mad! She’s so mad she’s going to throw a little temper tantrum through the California court system. She’s going to wail and cry and stomp her feet, and if that doesn’t work, she’ll probably drop to the floor of Wal-Mart and start rolling around, sobbing loudly. As you might have guessed, no one was paying attention to Carrie Prejean anymore, and she’s decided to sue the Miss California pageant. The charges include libel, infliction of emotional distress (she got a boo-boo on her psyche) and religious discrimination.

This is happening after most of us forgot about the insanity that is this whack-job’s martyr complex. After she got dissed by the pageant committee for being an insolent, unprofessional, lazy, hypocritical liar, her ass was saved by Donald Trump, who called her “strong, tough, smart and very beautiful.” Less than a month later (the second week of June), Carrie was fired, for good this time. When Carrie made some vague lawsuit threats when she was first fired, the Miss California pageant struck back quickly, giving a laundry list of reasons for why Carrie had not fulfilled her contract. They accused Carrie of “churlish insolent misbehavior,” “intolerable misbehavior,“ and “hostile communications.” They also had a record of Carrie turning down 39 pageant related appearances in one month. Of course, Carrie still thought she was persecuted and “set up” because of her conservative views. And now she’s got “evidence”:

Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean has filed a complaint against pageant officials, Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The complaint, filed in the Superior Court of California, cites damages to Prejean including libel, public disclosure of private facts, religious discrimination, intentional infliction of emotional distress and negligent infliction of emotional distress.

“To us it’s outrageous what happened,” Prejean’s attorney, Charles S. LiMandri, told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “There’s no doubt in our minds, that if she had answered that question at the Miss USA pageant differently she’d probably still be Miss USA right now, but she’d definitely still be Miss California.”

In a statement obtained by RadarOnline.com, Limandri explained: “Over the past two months we have worked hard to provide overwhelming evidence that Carrie Prejean did not violate her contract with Miss California USA and did not deserve to have her title revoked by Keith Lewis. We will make the case that her title was taken from her solely because of her support of traditional marriage. Keith Lewis has refused to clear her good name or even to admit any wrongdoing. Therefore, Carrie Prejean is left with no alternative but to take her case to court where she expects to be fully vindicated.”

A comment call to Shanna Moakler’s rep was not returned.

[From Radar]

Is it just me or does Carrie’s lawyer make it sound like the idea of proving that Carrie might have a legal leg to stand on is really, really difficult? I think it’s the way he says “…we have worked hard to provide overwhelming evidence that Carrie Prejean did not violate her contract…” (emphasis mine). Look, if you want to know what a liar this girl is, just see all of the crap she’s said over the past six months. She’s insane. And as far as the religious discrimination stuff… good Lord! Get off the cross, people need the wood. It’s an insult to the genuine religious persecution that goes on in the world.

fp_3436663_uno_campbell_naomi_081909

In so many ways, Naomi Campbell is a pioneer. She was the first black model to appear on the cover of several international fashion magazines, including Vogue UK and French Vogue. At one point in the 1980s and 1990s, Naomi was one of the three highest-paid models in the world, forming one part of “The Trinity” – which included Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista. Since the late 1990s signaled the end of the age of the supermodel, Naomi has spent the past decade still maintaining a pretty great track record with ad campaigns, runway work and print work for a model her age – she’s 39 years old in an industry where women are “over” at the age of 25. In addition to her modeling career, she’s been involved in charitable projects in Africa, and she’s always been an outspoken advocate of more racial diversity in the fashion industry.

Of course, there are parts of Naomi that aren’t so admirable. I’ve lost count of how many people Naomi has allegedly (or not so allegedly) assaulted. Lord knows you can’t hand her a purse, a blackberry, a drink or a shoe, because she’ll just beat you with it. Last year, when Naomi got into that incident on a British Airlines flight where she basically fought with her fists and her mouth, there were many reports that claimed Naomi’s tirade included racial slurs (something about “white slags”).

I’m bringing this up because Naomi has given another interview where she’s talking about racial diversity in the fashion industry. Naomi claims advertisers and magazines are using the recession as an excuse to drop models of color. Here’s the thing – Naomi’s got a point. But is she the best person to make the point?

Never afraid of speaking her mind, Naomi Campbell has accused the advertising business of using the recession as an excuse to drop black models.

The 39-year-old supermodel, who is a close friend of Sarah Brown, the Prime Minister’s wife, claims that major companies are refusing to use non-white women to promote their products.

“This year, we have gone back all the way that we had advanced,” she says. “I don’t see any black woman, or of any other race, in big advertising campaigns.”

Campbell, who was born in London to a mother of Caribbean descent, refers to the publication last year of a special edition of Italian Vogue dedicated to non-white models.

“That made some noise, but, unfortunately, we are the same as before,” she says. “People, in the panic of the recession, don’t dare to put a girl of colour in their campaign, full stop. Nor of any other race. It’s a shame. It’s very sad.”

The model, who is a friend of Nelson Mandela, has won support from Bruce Oldfield, the designer of the wedding dress worn by Samantha Cameron, the wife of the Tory leader.

“It’s absolutely true that black models will be not as popular for advertising companies and magazine covers as white girls,” the designer tells Mandrake. “In a recession, it’s probably doubly difficult for black girls to get a booking.”

Oldfield is thought to be the son of a Jamaican boxer, but never knew his natural parents and grew up in an orphanage. “In this climate, things are worse, but it is compounding a problem that already exists,” he adds. “Cover editors are going to choose white over black. Naomi is not far off the mark.”

In 1988, Campbell appeared on the cover of French Vogue as its first black cover girl after Yves St Laurent, her late friend and mentor, threatened to withdraw all of his advertising from the magazine following its refusal to place Campbell, or any black model, on its front page. She also became the first black model to appear on the cover of British Vogue.

Earlier this year, she described the fashion industry as “racist”. In a magazine interview, she was quoted as saying “You know, the American president may be black, but, as a black woman, I am still an exception in this business. I always have to work harder to be treated equally.”

In June, she attended the Glastonbury music festival with Gordon Brown’s wife, Sarah. The pair were promoting the Million Mums charity, which aims to help prevent women from dying needlessly in pregnancy and childbirth.

[From the Telegraph]

I don’t have all the facts and figures to know if all of this is technically accurate, but I suspect it is. The only black people I’ve seen on magazine covers the past year have been the Obamas – and to be fair to them, I think those Obama covers still sell really well. As for the larger issue of more racial diversity in advertising and the fashion industry as a whole – I tend to think advertisers will get smart about this stuff sooner rather than later. When someone like Tiger Woods is the highest earner in sports, just because of his advertising contracts, the sea change is coming. Speaking as a mixed-race woman, I know I appreciate it when I’m not just staring at vapid-looking blonde models on every page of Vogue. I’m still not sure if Naomi is our best spokeswoman though.
