In kind of sad news about some up-and-comers, nerdy heart-throb Michael Cera, star of “Juno” and “Arrested Development,” has broken up with his longterm girlfriend, Charlyne Yi. The couple have been together for three years and made a film together called “Paper Heart,” which is set for release on August 14. While both have said that they will remain friends, I can’t help but think that the promotional tour for this film might be more than a little awkward. But on the flip side: ladies who love nerdy guys will be thrilled to know that he’s available.

Talk about awkward! Michael Cera has dumped his longtime love Charlyne Yi, 23 - just as the co-stars are beginning a lengthy promotional campaign for their comedy Paper Heart.

“Charlyne is beyond sad,” says a source. “And the breakup is so much harder because she’ll have to see him on tour.”

The three-year relationship fell victim to Michael’s skyrocketing career, says the source. His shoots kept them apart for long stretches of time- and it didn’t help that Michael, 21, has become a bit of a heart-throb.

“He’s been with her since before he was super-famous, and now all these girls fawn all over him,” says the source. “He’s just itching to date other people. As hard as it will be for Charlyne, he’ll probably be out with someone else very soon.”

It is kind of a bummer about the timing of the breakup, but the guy is 21 years old. As cute a couple as Charlyne and Michael were, did she really think they were going to last forever? He’s barely a grown up. It’s normal for him to want to see what’s out there, especially now that women are actually giving him the time of day. Still, I feel for Charlyne. Most of the time when a guy dumps you, you can go on with your life and not have to see him again. She still has to promote this film with him. It won’t be easy.

Sienna Miller is just a step or two away from Amy Winehouse. Amy came in third in “least hygienic celebrity” poll a year and a half ago (right after Tommy Lee and Pam Anderson), and while Sienna’s name was never mentioned, I could see her coming in fourth. There was a day and time I would have stuck Britney Spears in one of those top – and highly coveted – spots. But Sienna just has this sort of look about her I can’t explain. But it’s a look that says “I’m very casual about hygiene.” And I’m guessing it’s random too. She probably goes to great lengths to keep her girly parts in good aesthetic order, but she might only wash her hair once a week.

Sienna admits she’s lazy when it comes to a lot of basic cleanliness rituals. She doesn’t even bother to wash her face with soap or a cleanser, and often uses shampoo just because it’s there. Consequently, she has bad skin. Who’d have thought?

It’s not something I obsess about, and, like anyone, I get pretty insecure. Sometimes more so because there is more focus on me. ‘

Sienna also denied she gets upset when she is featured on the worst-dressed pages of magazines and newspapers. She added to the UAE edition of Insider magazine: ‘I don’t care about those lists. I tend to love the outfits that end up on the worst-dressed pages anyway - they’re my favourite. I try not to read those magazine and I definitely don’t take them seriously. ‘I don’t dress for them, I dress for me and whatever expresses my mood at that moment. I just have fun with it.’

I know shampoo can be used for other things if need be, like washing your body if you’re out of soap. And if it comes down to it, I think conditioner can be used instead of shaving cream (as can soap, obviously). There are a lot of things you can substitute in the shower when you run out, but most women are pretty picky about what they put on their faces. Especially when you’re a celebrity. People notice your skin when your face is five feet wide on a theater screen. And in terms of laziness, I understand skipping shaving your legs. That’s laziness that’s understandable. But washing your face with shampoo just because it’s closer? It’s probably one of the three most important things you do in the shower, and definitely the easiest. Most shampoos have a ton of fragrance and ingredients I wouldn’t want on my face.

It’s no surprise Sienna’s a bigger fan of the “worst dressed” clothes. She’s definitely worn some lovely dresses, but I’m assuming she has a good stylist. If she doesn’t care what she puts on her face I doubt she has great natural style either. Unless sleeping with married men is a style. I guess it is in a way, at least a lifestyle in her case.

Worried that the tabloids would stop writing about her, since it’s the only thing keeping her famous these days, former actress Lindsay Lohan spent 11 hours in a Beverly Hills salon getting her hair dyed platinum blond. Lohan had only recently returned to her natural red, although most of the hair on her head appears to be fake anyway, regardless of color. Lohan told reporters that the new look was for a film role. The reporters then burst out laughing. Okay, I made that last part up, but you can totally see it happening.

The actress spent more than 11 hours at the hair salon yesterday, getting her naturally red hair dyed an eye-catching shade.
During her epic salon session Lindsay could be glimpsed chatting and laughing with the staff, drinking from a glass, and even smoking an illicit cigarette.

When she left the Byron and Tracey Hair Salon in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, at 11:30pm, her hair was extra long, following the insertion of extensions.
Lindsay was wearing a short black dress with gladiator sandals and a black Fedora.
She hinted the colour change was for a new film role, presumably the romance Dare To Love Me, which is due to go into production.
She also knocked back suggestions by fans that she should cut her hair into a crop, writing on Twitter today: ‘I don’t think the director wants it short… I look ugly with short hair! Eeeeks.’

But, while Lindsay was being pampered at the salon, reports emerged that she is being chased over an unpaid hotel bill.

A source told the Mirror: ‘It seems Lindsay has unpaid bills at the Chateau Marmont mounting up to £25,000.

‘She’ll ask for a room even though she’s told there’s an outstanding balance at the desk.

I’ll tell you why the blond hair on Lindsay is so disturbing, aside from the whole “I think I’m Marilyn Monroe” thing: she looks exactly like her momager, Dina. Like, isn’t one enough? I don’t believe for a second that the hair change was for a film role. It’s just the latest whim of a cracked-out drug addict with nothing but time on her hands.

The photos from Lindsay’s rendezvous with Sam Ronson after finally emerging from the salon are a far cry from their last meeting. It just goes to show that this relationship is like a roller coaster ride. A big, blond, cracked-out, crying roller coaster ride.
