Ashlee Simpson is still remaining mum on impending motherhood.
The newly betrothed singer dodged pregnancy talk yet again on the Today show Friday morning when Matt Lauer prodded about “expanding the family.”
“Well, you know, that’s been going around for about a year now, so only time will tell with that,” Ashlee answered.
Without missing a beat, and changing the topic entirely, the 23-year-old quipped, “But I am giving birth to my record [Bittersweet World]. That’s my new baby.”
While she continued to be coy about her pregnancy, which OK! confirmed on Monday, Ashlee couldn’t stop gushing about her fiancé, Pete Wentz, and the “great job” he did at picking out her new rock.
“I’m very lucky,” she said.
Asked if they have settled on a wedding date, Ash said they don’t have one in mind just yet.
“Right now, we’re just enjoying the engagement.”

Mariah Carey, who frequently describes herself as “eternally 12,” told Oprah Winfrey she can now wear her high school wardrobe.
“My jean size went down to my 10th grade size,” the 38-year-old revealed Monday.
“I got tired to people telling me, ‘You need to lose weight,’” she said. “It inspired me.”
“For me, it’s not about a number on a scale,” she added. “It’s not about necessarily even a size. It’s about feeling good and being comfortable in your own skin. Right now, I feel really great. I feel better than I’ve ever felt.”
With the help of a diet and nutrition guru, the singer has maintained a very strict diet that limits foods cooked in butter.
Her most coveted indulgence? Mac and cheese.
“It broke my heart… That’s the thing that I have difficulty letting go of because that’s comfort food,” Carey said. “So basically I’m uncomfortable.”
Carey – who just celebrated her 18th No. 1 single – has also credited her personal trainer for her new physique.
“I don’t know why everyone thinks I lost 30 pounds,” she told Allure. “This trainer has actually helped me reshape my arms. That’s where I gained most of my weight: upper body. That’s just one thing you have to lose weight for.”

Britney Spears relaxed after her minor car accident with an intimate dinner with mom Lynne on Saturday night.
The two hit Dominick’s Restaurant and sat in the second booth near the entrance.
“She was in a great mood, talking and laughing a lot!” an on-looker tells Usmagazine.com.
Spears — who “comes in all the time,” says the source — wore a flower dress and “was listening to her mother” talk.
“She was very passive,” notes the on-looker. “You could tell that her mom really had control over the situation.
“It was a mom and daughter affair.”
(See photos of Britney and her parents through the years here.)
As Usmagazine.com first reported, the singer was involved in a minor accident at around 8:20 p.m. Saturday when her 2008 Mercedes struck a 2006 Nissan in front of her that had stopped on the eastbound Ventura Freeway. No one was injured.
A California Highway Patrol Officer took a report, but no one was cited.

At a March 25 charity event at hot new L.A. eatery Beso (owned by Eva Longoria Parker), Jennifer Aniston and Orlando Bloom were two of several A-list stars who came out to support a good cause. But witnesses at the restaurant tell OK! the pair was adding more than their fair share of spice to the party!
“They were like heat-seeking missiles,” one eyewitness reveals to OK!. “They came together, threw their arms around each other and shared a big hug.” Adds another attendee at the event, “I saw them in a booth next to each other and Jen was looking at Orlando like he was her favorite person in the world. She looked like she wanted to grab him and make out with him!”
Also in attendance: Jen’s BFF Courteney Cox and her hubby, David Arquette, Jessica Simpson, Kate Beckinsale and Eva Longoria Parker. The gathering was all to help raise funds for the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation.
But this event isn’t the first time Jen, 39, has displayed what sources call a “serious crush” on the adorable Orlando. The pair have known each other since 2003, when the British hunk signed on to play Prince Paris opposite Brad Pitt’s Achilles in the epic big-screen dud Troy.

After years of hoping for a child to call her own, when Jennifer Lopez finally found out she was pregnant with twins, putting on pounds was the last thing on her mind. In fact, the 38-year-old superstar even said that she gained the right amount of weight — by her own estimate, between 45 and 50 pounds — for a woman having twins. But now that the twins, Max and Emme, who were born Feb. 22, are healthy and happy, Jenny From the Block is determined to get back the body that made her famous.
Once Jennifer gets the green light from her doctor, she’s going to get her famous butt right back to the gym. Gunnar Peterson, J.Lo’s trainer for the last 10 years, confirms to OK!, “We’re already setting it up. She’s an organizer and a planner.”
So what kind of workout does Peterson have in mind for the superstar? Initially, he says, he’ll “pay attention to her heart rate and start with light cardio and some body-weight exercises and build from there. Just like her kids will do in no time flat — it’s walk before you run.”
So will she be able to shed every last one of those pregnancy pounds? “This is not someone who dabbles in anything,” Peterson says firmly. “She’s the last person I ever worry about getting back into shape.”
