Studio: Jessica’s Movie to Hit Texas Theaters Dec. 21

Jessica Simpson’s film Blonde Ambition, costarring Luke Wilson, will be hitting theaters after all – with a limited run in Simpson’s home state of Texas, the movie’s studio confirms to PEOPLE.

“The film is being released theatrically on Dec. 21,” says Elizabeth Wolfe, a spokeswoman for both Nu Image/Millennium Films, the film’s production company, and First Look Distribution, which will distribute the romantic comedy. Aside from Simpson and Wilson, the cast also includes Andy Dick, Rachael Leigh Cook and Penelope Ann Miller.

News of the film’s theatrical release comes following reports that the film was getting the direct-to-DVD treatment in late January, skipping theaters altogether.

Says Wolfe: “It is being released in this crowded marketplace in eight theaters in Texas. The reason we chose Texas is the two stars are from Texas: Jessica Simpson and Luke Wilson. As an independent studio, we, as a rule, don’t have major wide releases. It’s a very common release practice for independent studios.”

Wolfe adds that the studio isn’t ruling out a wider rollout. “Once it opens, we’ll assess how well it did.”

As for Simpson’s performance, Wolfe says, “It is a very cute film that Jessica fans will love and be thrilled with. We’ve done a second film with Jessica, Major Movie Star [slated for 2008 release], and we have all the confidence in her.”

Kevin Federline’s Lawyer Slams Britney Spears’ “Paparazzi” Excuse

Kevin Federline’s attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan spoke to Usmagazine.com Friday outside L.A. Superior Court about Britney Spears skipping her scheduled deposition this past Wednesday.

Though he said he was “not upset” by her absence, he said the matter will be addressed in court “probably within the next 30 days.”

He said, “This can be done with her participation or without it. But it doesn’t help anyone not to obey court orders. We will go forward, and she can respond in anyway that addresses her failure to appear.”

As for Spears pal Sam Lutfi’s claim that the singer didn’t show due to anxiety from paparazzi, Kaplan said: “If the paparazzi are something that are causing anxiety, that is something I would assume that she deals with most of her life.

“So I am not sure why the paparazzi anxiety level happened to coincide with the fact that the court ordered her to appear to be cross examined.”

When asked how he felt about Web sites reporting that Spears was out until 2 a.m. that same night, he said, “she probably got over her anxiety, apparently.”

He declined to comment how Federline felt about her cancellation.

The next court date is January 23.

Lindsay Lohan: ‘It Was Time to Grow Up’

Lindsay Lohan called into a Las Vegas radio station on Friday, in an effort to score Hannah Montana tickets for a friend’s nieces – and ended up chatting with the hosts about how her life is going.

“I think my life is different now, and it’s changed, and I’m growing up,” Lohan, 21, told the morning hosts at Mix 94.1 FM– which just happens to be giving away tickets to people who get celebs to call in.

“It was time to grow up. I’ve gone through a lot, and I’m just a different person now,” said Lohan, later saying, “It’s amazing, everything’s going so well.”

Asked about her life since rehab, the actress said she has turned a page, which she said is why she’s been in the news less often lately.

She also discussed her current projects – mostly musical in nature. “I’ve been in the studio, and it’s going really well, and I’m really excited, ’cause it’s going to be more urban pop,” she said. “It’s good to be back in the studio.”

She declined to discuss her love life (”I don’t kiss and tell”), but added that she hopes she can plan a trip to Africa on a humanitarian mission sometime soon.

“I really love children,” she said, “and it would be nice to give back.”

Report: Tony Parker Arranged Meet-Up with Model, Alleged Text Messages Show

“Are you coming or not? I would love to see you.”

That’s one of the text messages Eva Longoria’s husband Tony Parker allegedly sent to model Alexandra Paressant, according to x17online.com.

To prove Paressant’s allegations that she had an affair with the Spurs basketball player, the site noted Parker is friends with her on MySpace and published four text messages she claims were sent from him. Each were originally written in French:

• “I’m at the hotel, relax. We’re going to see each other on Thur. anyway.”
• “I’m back in Barcelona; call me when you get back.”
• “Come; I’m at the Park Hyatt.”

After Paressant came out yesterday to say she carried on an affair with Parker, 25, in September after meeting him at his wedding to Longoria, 32, the couple defended the integrity of their marriage.

“These allegations are completely, 100% false and untrue,” Longoria’s rep told Usmagazine.com in a statement. “All high profile couples fall victim to these sorts of things in the course of their relationships. It appears that this is not the first time this woman has used an athlete to gain public notoriety.”

“I love my wife,” Parker added. “She’s the best thing in my life, and I have never been happier.”

Ironically, Longoria is on the cover of the latest issue of UK Glamour, hitting newsstands today in London.

“Both of us have these amazing lives separately, but they are second to being us, second to the relationship,” she told the magazine before Paressant’s allegations were known. “We’ll have our fights, our ups and downs, but no matter what, we want to be together and be married.”

The x17online.com report says that additional text messages are forthcoming.

Jessica Alba Is Pregnant

Jessica Alba and Cash Warren are expecting their first child, her rep tells Usmagazine.com.

“I can confirm that Jessica and Cash are expecting a baby in late spring, early summer,” he said. (See more of the year’s surprise star pregnancies here.)

Alba, 26, and Warren, 28, — who met on the set of Fantastic Four in 2004 (Warren was the assistant to the film’s director) — couldn’t stop smiling as they sat courtside at the Los Angeles Lakers-Golden State Warriors game at L.A.’s Staples Center Dec. 9.

“They can’t live without each other,” Warriors point guard Baron Davis (who is Warren’s business partner) told Usmagazine.com last month. “When they’re together, they act like they’re in high school. It’s like puppy love.”

Alba couldn’t stop gushing about Waren to Cosmopolitan in March 2005.

“He might be The One,” she said. “The first week that we kind of got together, he gave me a note and signed it with a dollar sign, because his name is Cash. It just said, ‘I really, really like you.’ And that was exactly how I felt at the time.”

Though they split briefly in July, they got back together in August.

Wonder if Alba will be able to match these stars’ sexy pregnancy styles.

EXCLUSIVE: Britney Spears’ New Pal Sam Lutfi’s Disturbing Past

Since last summer, when Britney Spears’ pal Sam Lutfi appeared out of nowhere, the 33-year-old so-called film producer has become an integral part of the pop singer’s life.

He’s called Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to denounce rumors that she’s pregnant, organized her 26th birthday party and stayed overnight at her homes — platonically.

But in the the current issue of Us Weekly, there may be good reason for concern.

Lutfi has had two restraining order against him for violent verbal and physical attacks, according to complaints obtained by Us, and has gone by multiple aliases, including Osama N. Lutti and Osamah N. Lutfi.

In a 2005 complaint, Jumana Issa, a business acquaintance, claims Lutfi “harassed me repeatedly with obscene e-mails, offensive faxes, telephone voice mails (around 1 a.m. to 3 a.m.), out-of-control behavior and outrageous telephone hang-ups (around 15 to 30 a day).” In one fax, Lutfi scolded: “Peel yourself away from all the candy … and overhangin [sic] belly … and answer my e-mails.”

His former neighbor, Douglas Snoland, filed a similar complaint in 2004, alleging that Lutfi tried to kick down his front door when he suspected Snoland of having his car towed. Snoland also accused Lutfi of wanting to kill his 73-year-old disabled mother. In the complaint, Snoland accused Lutfi of saying: “I will beat your ass … Your mother is a f—–g old hag. You are a f—-t. You will regret the day you ever met me.” Lutfi’s attorney denied the threats, but a judge granted a three-year restraining order to Lutfi to stay at least 15 feet away from Snoland and his mom.

As for his past work history, he is listed as a producer of the 1998 B-movie Bug Buster on imdb.com. The movie’s actual producer and director, Lorenzo Doumani, says Lutfi was his $350-a-week assistant. “He was a hustler type, a fast-talking kid,” recalls Doumani.

Now Spears’ pals worry he is in her life under false pretenses. “They are frightened,” a source close to her parents, Jaime and Lynne, tells Us. “They know she is being taken advantage of.”

“She’s so desperate for a friend that it’s easy once you get in there,” adds a pal.

$150,000 Breach of Contract Suit Against Vanessa Hudgens to Go Forward

Age isn’t just a number for precocious High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens — and, according to a Los Angeles judge today, it’s not an excuse to avoid legal woes.

On Wednesday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Tricia Ann Bigelow green-lighted a breach-of-contract suit by Hudgens’ former attorney, Brian Schall, who contends that the almost 19-year-old actress owes him more than $150,000 in back commissions, according to E!.

Schall claims he helped her earn more than $5 million from her songwriting and recording career.

But Hudgens has called Schall’s work “below professional standard.”

She and her attorney had argued that she was just 16 when the contract with Schall was signed and cited California’s Family Code, which says “the contract of a minor is voidable before [age 18] or within a reasonable time afterward.”

But judge Bigelow said she waited too long — until she was 18 years and nine months old — before attempting to void the contract, allowing the case to proceed to either a motion for summary judgment or a jury decision, E! reports.

A hearing is set for January 15.

Hudgens should have no problem footing the bill: Usmagazine.com reported exclusively she scored a “substantial” raise to star in High School Musical 3. The movie will include a prom, she recently told Us.

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo Make Out at CaCee Cobb’s Birthday Party

It may be the holiday season, but Jessica Simpson and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo — her beau since mid-November — seemed more in the mood for Valentine’s Day at pal CaCee Cobb’s 30th birthday bash at Hollywood hot spot Teddy’s on December 1.

“They were all over each other on the couch, making out,” a Simpson source tells Us Weekly in its new issue, on newsstands now.

“They were on top of each other! It was a little bit much for a public place,” the witness adds. “He was holding her close and she wasn’t paying attention to anyone else.”

The source adds that Simpson, 27, is “crazy” about her man, also 27, “and gushes about how sweet he is.”

Apparently, he’s also generous too: Simpson, who split from Nick Lachey two years ago, was overheard that night telling pal Ken Paves that Romo (who recently signed a $67.5 million contract with the Cowboys) picked up the Teddy’s check for their entire 12-person party!

Hills Watch: Heidi Montag Wants to Postpone Her Wedding

Any episode of The Hills in which Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag get into a screaming match is must-see MTV. And Monday night’s episode not only provided that, but also an interesting new twist in the saga that is Lauren Conrad and Brody Jenner’s permanent state of flirtation that Lauren painfully calls “limbo.”

At long last, Lauren acted on her season-long affection for Brody at a Halloween party at LC’s casa, engaging in a cute game of beer pong. After beating Brody in the game, LC gave Brody a series of come-hither looks. The pair seemed to be totally smitten. Or, as LC pal Whitney Port put it, “I can definitely sense some sort of chemistry.” Alas, Brody left the party early and they didn’t hook up.

As LC and Brody racheted up their sexual tension, a Justin-Bobby-free Audrina Partridge auditioned the part of her new beau at the Halloween bash. The night’s choice? Australian hottie Corey, who, with his sailor suit and sweet smile, made Us melt.

The wisest observation of the entire season, however, came when Lauren listed Corey’s merits vis a vis Justin-Bobby: “He returns your calls (which Justin didn’t), he likes to kiss (which Justin didn’t) and he bathes (which Justin didn’t)…Upgrade!”

On the other side of The Hills, it was yet another fight for the engaged Speidi, as Spencer stormed out of their apartment in a fit of rage after learning that Heidi and his sister had been talking about Heidi’s pre-wedding jitters. (Heidi had revealed to Spencer’s sister Stephanie, “Maybe we should postpone this [the wedding] and wait a little bit. I mean, what’s the harm in waiting.”)

After last week’s battle ending with Heidi removing her engagement ring, it was unclear if the couple will make it to the altar. This week’s episode indicated that Speidi is definitely skating on thin ice as winter and their wedding nears. At the end of this week’s spat, Heidi warned Spencer, “If you leave, don’t come back!”

Even though we suspect he will return, it’s fun considering how much better off Heidi might be if he didn’t.

Up Next Week: Finale fever! Will Speidi walk down the aisle? Will Brody ditch his playboy ways and commit to Lauren?
