Katie Holmes: Actress, fashionista …. cook?

Tom Cruise’s wife, who just turned 29 Tuesday, says she plans on hitting the kitchen this Christmas as she celebrates with both sides of their big family in Telluride, Colorado. (Check out her family’s holiday card.)

“I will probably cook some garlic mashed potatoes and maybe a cheesecake,” she says.

She adds that “Tom’s really good in the kitchen … [he] has shown me the greatness of extra chocolate chips.”

Even 20-month-old international jetsetter Suri will get in on the action by helping Mom make sugar cookies.

“Suri will be in the dough everywhere,” Holmes joked.

She said the family — who include Cruise’s kids with Nicole Kidman, Connor, 12, and Isabella, 14 — will likely go skiing. (She added that “[Tom’s] first two children are incredible, really smart and kind. They call me ‘Mom.’”)

As for the couple’s first child, Suri, Holmes says “we don’t like to be away from her.

“She’s very aware,” Holmes adds. “This summer, when Tom was working in Germany, she’d wake up and say, ‘Hello, Berlin,’”

Alas, no interview would be complete without Holmes gushing over her husband. (They celebrated their one-year anniversary this year.)

“I appreciate the man that I’m with and my family and my work,” she tells Parade. “I feel very lucky to be able to say that. I mean, what we do in a week is extraordinary.”

Nickelodeon is considering airing a special about sex and love after its Zoey 101 star Jamie Lynn Spears announced she was pregnant at age 16 this past week.

Veteran newswoman Linda Ellerbee, who has done shows before on the network, would host, the Associated Press reports. “I think it’s important that something be done,” she said.

Spears surprised many when she announced she was pregnant on Tuesday.

But many parents — whose children tune in to Zoey 101 — are finding themselves in the awkward position of having to explain the scandal to their kids.

NYC-based psychotherapist Robi Ludwig gave Usmagazine.com these five tips:

1. Ask your children questions
“Find out what your children’s thoughts are: What’s your understanding? What do you think about Jamie Lynn being pregnant at 16 and unmarried?”

2. Be honest
“Parents need to be straight forward and say, ‘This is not a wise choice.’”

3. See if your child knows about birth control
“Do they understand that having [unprotected sex] is not a wise decision? It’s very hard because kids will probably always have facts before their parents are ready to give them. But you have to deal with that kind of discomfort.”

4. Tell them the consequences of having a baby so young
“In general, the statement needs to be, ‘It’s a really sad situation.’ Tell them it’s ideal to have a child when you’re an adult, and you’ve had a whole range of experiences and you’re ready to settle down in your life. It’s not ideal when you’re a teenager.”

5. Help them find a new role model
“I think it’s fair to say, ‘This is not who you want to emulate. You might like her, enjoy her work, but her personal life is not one you want to emulate.’”

While her fans gasped in shock Tuesday night as news broke that 16-year-old actress Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister of Britney, had confirmed exclusively to OK! that she is expecting her first child, one of Hollywood’s most jaded celebs tells OK! she doesn’t see what the fuss is all about.

When asked what she thought of the news that the Zoey 101 star and her boyfriend will soon be parents, Lindsay Lohan spoke bluntly, telling OK!, “Not much,” before asking, “Why do people think it’s such a big deal?”

Of course, keep in mind this is coming from an actress who at the tender age of 21 has already made multiple visits to rehab, spent time in jail (okay, well only a few minutes, but that’s more time than we’re willing to serve) and been linked romantically to over a dozen of Hollywood’s hottest hunks. So perhaps a little underage, unmarried pregnancy isn’t such a big deal to her.

Angelina Jolie — who just nabbed a Screen Actors Guild nomination — admits she got too skinny this year but says she was bothered by all the negative scrutiny.

Jolie, 32 — who says she lost weight while grieving over her mother’s passing in January — opened up in the new issue of Grazia magazine.

“The thing that’s disturbing is that instead of people saying, ‘This looks like a person that’s actually dealing with something, probably from emotions,’ they say, ‘Does she fit into skinny jeans and look thin?’” Jolie said.

“I want people to understand who I am as a person is not somebody that’s trying to look thin, but just trying to work through a very difficult year,” she said. (For other stars who got too skinny, click here.)

Jolie said she got through her death of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, thanks to the support of her beau Brad Pitt (they were recently named Us’ Couple of the Year).

“He is just a great friend and when my mother passed, he was so great,” she said. “He sat with me and held [my mother’s] hand. After she passed away he spent the night asking me and my brother about our mother and got us to tell funny stories about her.

“He focused on all the love and joy we were fortunate enough to have had,” Jolie said. “He was extraordinary.”

Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag are now at war … on the dance floor.

Conrad, Audrina Patridge and Lauren “Lo” Bosworth hit Hollywood hot spot Goa early Friday around midnight to film scenes for the upcoming season of their MTV mega-hit.

Around 1 a.m. Montag — who tells the new issue of Us Weekly that she has called off her wedding to Spencer Pratt — showed up with Pratt’s sister Stephanie. Though Conrad ignored them, “Audrina came over and hugged and chatted with Heidi,” the witness told Usmagazine.com.

Wearing a short, patterned dress, black tights and black leather jacket, Montag and Pratt set up shop at a table next to Conrad and her pals.

“Lauren and Heidi were literally almost back to back and not speaking,” the onlooker told Us.

Conrad and co then hit the dance floor to 80s music. “Lauren danced with a tall blonde guy and all of them were waving their drinks in the air,” says the on-looker.

Ten minutes later, Montag hit the floor to Dr. Dre’s “Next Episode” — only to be followed up a short time later by Patridge and Conrad who took over the dance floor to “Piece of Me” by Britney Spears and “Rumors” by Lindsay Lohan.

Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister of Britney Spears, is pregnant with the child of her boyfriend of over two years, Casey Aldridge. And in an exclusive interview in the new issue of OK! , the teenager opens up about her pregnancy, which just passed the 12-week mark, and which she says came as a total shock to her.

“I can’t say it was something I was planning to do right now,” the 16-year-old confesses to OK!. “But now that it’s in my lap and that it’s something I have to deal with, I’m looking forward to being the best mom I can be.”

As for her decision to keep the baby, the Zoey 101 star explains, “I think my whole life I would have to live with knowing what I did or what I didn’t do.” And Jamie Lynn, who intends on raising the child in her home state of Louisiana, also tells OK! that she intends to face up to the life-changing choice she’s made. “I’m the one who has to live with it for the rest of my life,” she says. “I put myself in this position, an adult position, so I have to act like an adult and take responsibility for what I did.”

Of course, Jamie Lynn won’t be going it alone. Her mother, Lynne Spears, says to OK!, “I want her to ask me to help as much as she wants me to because I will be there for her. I want to be a big part, if she wants me to be.”

As for any message Jamie Lynn’s fans might take away from this news, the young actress is realistic. “I definitely don’t think it’s something you should do; it’s better to wait. But I can’t be judgmental because it’s a position I put myself in.”

Rihanna’s decision to cut her hair was even more controversial than originally known.

“The label [Def Jam] didn’t want me to do this look,” the 19-year-old singer tells January’s Allure of her edgy bob. “But cutting my hair, it made me stand out as an artist. I don’t care who likes it – this is me.”

Rihanna – whose hit “Umbrella” was the No. 2 single of the year – says her sharp do has inspired many copy-cats.

“My friends still live in Barbados,” she says of her home country. “They let me know that everyone asks for the “Rihanna haircut.’”

But she wasn’t so popular growing up. She tells the magazine she was teased for having paler skin than her peers.

“I was cultured in a very ‘black’ way,” she says. “But when I got to school I’m being called ‘white’… they would look at me, and they would curse me out. I didn’t understand.”

She also tried to clear up rumors that she romanced Josh Hartnett. Though they were spotted making out, she explained: “He and my management, they have each other’s contact information. I went to [NYC club] Pink Elephant, and he came by.

“All of a sudden, the next day, I’m seeing that we were kissing and hugging up each other.”

However, she cooled of gossip that she hooked up with Jay-Z, president of her Def Jam label, and that she has feuded with his girlfriend, Beyonce.

“She’s Beyonce, and I’m [Jay-Z’s] new protegee,” she said. “When we see each other we say hi. We’re not enemies, but we’re not ‘friends’ friends.”

Though hot new couple Jessica Simpson and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo have yet to speak publicly about their whirlwind romance, any doubt about their couple-dom was put to rest Sunday afternoon when the former Newlywed showed up at Texas Stadium to cheer him on against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Sitting next to her father and manager Joe Simpson, the Employee of the Month star showed her support for her new beau by sporting a Cowboys jersey with Tony’s #9 — in pink, of course — emblazoned on the front and back.

And while most fans cheered when pictures of Jessica appeared on the big screen inside the stadium, at least one female Tony fan wasn’t thrilled, carrying a sign reading, “Tony, Dump Jessica and marry me!”

Luckily for the young couple, this sentiment isn’t shared by those close to them. “It’s great,” Jess’ pal, Scrubs star Donald Faison, told OK! recently. “I’m glad they’re together.” Another friend revealed to OK! that “Tony is a gentleman and he treats her like a Southern belle.”

Sadly, having Jess in the stands was not exactly good luck for Tony, who not only lost the game, but also had his worst day ever as a starting quarterback.

The “wonderful adventure” is over for Celine Dion.

With a tear, and a rose given to her by her son Rene Charles, the pop queen’s long-running Las Vegas show ended Saturday night nearly five years after it began.

“It’s hard to believe that we’ve come to an end,” she told the audience gathered for her final performance of “A New Day” at Caesars Palace.

“It’s a pleasure to perform for you, but I’m extremely passionate to be a mother,” she said, explaining her decision to end her run.

Dion was emotional throughout the night, shedding tears following “My Heart Will Go On,” and speaking candidly to the crowd in person and via video.

In a speech that ran before the show began, Dion said she actually wanted to end the show when Rene Charles was born. “I wanted to be more successful as a mother than as a singer,” she said.

Following her final performance as a headliner in Vegas, Dion said, “it was a wonderful adventure… It was an emotional night. It was a wonderful adventure.”

After her last number, Dion’s husband, Rene Angelil, and her 7-year-old came on stage to embrace her.

Since her show opened in March 2003, “A New Day” has grossed more than $400 million.

Dion’s departure from Caesars makes way for Bette Midler, who begins her residency on Feb. 20 with “The Showgirl Must Go On.”

Eva Longoria and Tony Parker made a late-night return to San Antonio just before midnight Friday.

The couple walked off a commercial flight from Los Angeles looking casual and affectionate days after denying allegations by French model Alexandra Paressant that she had an affair with Parker.

As they walked out of terminal 1, the pair snuggled on an escalator. Longoria playfully intertwined fingers with her husband and gave him a kiss.

The couple has maintained a united front since allegations of infidelity first became public earlier this week. On Wednesday, Parker issued a statement to PEOPLE, saying, “I love my wife. She’s the best thing in my life, and I have never been happier.” And on Thursday, the couple attended the game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers in L.A.

The Spurs are scheduled to play in San Antonio on Saturday, where Parker, who has an injured ankle, is expected to sit out the game.
