Ever think that Hills star Lauren Conrad is too picky about guys? Maybe it’s due to the awful passes she’s been subjected to!

“Pickup lines have become so cheesy, people hear them as a joke now,” Conrad, 21, says in the new issue of Us Weekly.

Some of the worst pickup lines she’s heard? “A guy the other day said, ‘You’re a smoking babe and I think you should call me,’ and handed me his number,” Conrad says, adding, “I just wonder if that’s ever actually worked. ‘Smoking babe’?”

And there’s worse!

“I had a guy come up to me and ask for a Band-Aid and I said, ‘No, I don’t have a Band-Aid.’ Then he said, ‘You’re supposed to ask me why,’” she tells Us.

When the ever-friendly Conrad played along and asked him, the pickup artist replied, “Because I scraped my knee when I fell for you.” Conrad recalls, “I didn’t understand it. I was like, ‘Did you really fall?’”

Still, Conrad realizes it can be intimidating for anyone — including herself — to approach members of the opposite sex. She admits, “I’ve pretended to know a guy before” in order to get his attention. “I said, ‘I think I know you from somewhere.’”

Adds Conrad, “It’s hard to walk up to someone out of nowhere and be like, ‘Hi, I’m Lauren.’”

Tell Us: What’s the worst pick-up line you’ve ever heard?

The verdict is in! Britney Spears’ visitation rights with her two sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, have been modified following last Friday’s custody hearing. Spears failed to regained shared custody of the boys with her ex, Kevin Federline.

L.A. Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon ruled that Britney can have two daytime monitored visits a week and one overnight visit. The daytime visits will run from 12-7 p.m., while the overnight visit goes from 12 p.m. to 10 a.m.

“Brit’s visitation days are determined by Kevin,” a source tells Star exclusively. “Meaning that Kevin will decide what days she can have the boys. Also, Kevin is a bit annoyed by having to make the decisions because it really locks him down. As it is, his personal freedom has pretty much gone to the birds, so with the commish telling him he has to make decisions on days and times, it is another responsibility he just does not need right now.”

THE PARENTING COACH’S REPORT
According to court documents, parenting coach Lisa Hacker said Spears “loves her children and the children are bonded” to her, but that the pop star “rarely engaged with the children in either conversation or play.” In her report, Hacker said the “environment at the house ranged from chaotic to almost somber with little communication at all.” In addition, “It seems that [Britney's] choices are dependent more upon what she wants to do at any given time rather than what would be more enjoyable for the children.”

Although the parenting coach wrote there was nothing she “would characterize as abusive in a traditional sense,” she did note that Spears seemed to have a “lack of general attention at times.” The coach concluded, “The problem is that unless Ms. Spears realizes the consequences of her behavior and the impact that it has [on] her children, nothing is going to be successful.”

Britney was ordered by Commissioner Gordon to continue the random drug testing and childproof her home. In addition, “the minor children are not to be transported in a motor vehicle by any party unless the children are properly secured in a properly installed child safety seat,” the ruling said.

Britney and Kevin are due back in court on Nov. 26.

At the Fourth Annual Black Ball Concert for Keep a Child Alive, Gwen Stefani proved that even celebrities are sometimes just giddy fans.

As the “HollaBack” girl took the stage in a short black dress and white blouse to sing with KCA co-founder Alicia Keys, she admitted to being nervous during the dinner that preceded the concert. “I had to sit next to David Bowie!” hollered Gwen, who says she listens to the music legend’s songs every night said. “I was so scared I may have to take him off my iPod now.”

After taking a sip of Alicia’s water, Gwen composed herself and the pair sang U2’s “Sunday, Bloody Sunday.”

Ryan Seacrest – who was at Hollywood club Les Deux October 26 when Britney Spears mingled with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo — said he saw the singer give him a lap dance.

“I spoke to her for a minute. She seemed to be in a very, very good mood,” he said on his KIIS-FM radio show this morning. “She had her sunglasses on. I said, ‘Busy day, huh?’ She kind of smiled and laughed and said, ‘Yeah.’ And then I believe I saw her and Tony Romo frolicking.”

“Lap dancing?” a co-host asked.

“I mean some would say,” Seacrest said.

“She’s on his lap,” the co-host continued.

“Yeah,” Seacrest replied.

Usmagazine.com reported Spears (with longtime pal Alli Sims) first met up with Romo when they made a five-minute stop at Ketchup restaurant in L.A.after her frenzied custody court hearing on Friday. Spears and Sims left after about five minutes.

The pair hit Les Deux around 10:30 p.m. Romo, 27 (who was recently linked to Sophia Bush), and his friends joined them a short time later.

“She was dancing and talking a lot with Tony,” an onlooker told Usmagazine.com.

Spears, the witness added, “seemed in a really good mood and was super happy when [one of her] songs came on.” Her pal Avril Lavigne also popped by her table to say hi.

In typical Spears club style, the singer changed into a new dress and shades in a club bathroom midway through the night.

By 1:15 a.m., Spears left with Sims, but returned to the club a short time later after realizing she accidentally left her cell phone behind.

Heidi Klum, 34, is already a supermodel, the host of Bravo’s hit reality series Project Runway and a jewelry designer for Mouawad. Now she has added makeup guru to the list! The German-born mother of three just launched the limited-edition collection called The Heidi Klum Very Sexy Makeup Collection at Victoria’s Secret stores nationwide. The line includes a glitter eye liner, an eye shadow, a lipstick and a lip gloss. Heidi, who has been married for two years to singer Seal, tells Star exclusively how she stays sexy.

What sexy look does your husband Seal like best on you?
He’s pretty unusual because he doesn’t like it when I wear my hair down. Like, today I spent an hour getting my hair to look full and sexy. But all he wants is for me to pull my hair back in a bun or ponytail. He tells me he likes to see my face and the hair just gets in the way! That makes it easy for me because it takes such little effort. I’m a lucky girl!

Which Hollywood icon do you think is the sexiest?
Definitely Marilyn Monroe. I’ve never tried to look like her, but I admire her greatly. She was always so feminine and sexy. She had these great curves that she loved to show off. She wore these tight dresses that always made her look so good. It’s difficult to find dresses like that these days because so many of them poof out, but Dolce & Gabanna has a few. Now and then I like to slip into a dress that hugs my curves.

You look incredible, especially considering that you’ve had three children. How do you do it?
I work very, very hard at it. It’s not just the exercise. It’s having to say no so often. Like, this morning I had to say no to these delicious-looking muffins. It was so hard! It’s not easy sometimes.

You now live in L.A. How is it different from New York?
The style is very casual and beachy. It’s all T-shirts and flip flops, so it’s very different from what I am used to. But the look is deceptive because that shirt that looks 10 years old probably cost $800! It’s casual but expensive.

What style tips do you have for women?
Don’t follow any trends, do what works for you. You have to know your own style and be true to that. Never force a look.

What is the theme of your makeup line?
Sexy! I used a lot of neutral colors because I don’t like bright makeup. I like neutral tones so the eyeshadow is a bit beige-y and the lips gloss is light pink. All this makeup is super easy to use and it all blends together so well.

Why have you decided to create a makeup line?
I’ve loved playing with makeup since I was a little girl and this was my opportunity to create my favorite looks.

Does your daughter Leni play with your makeup?
Yes! She’s three and likes to have fun with makeup. But she doesn’t put it on her face like we do. She likes to use makeup to make characters, like the kind they paint on your face at the Halloween pumpkin patch. Her favorite character is a mouse so she puts a big dot of black eyeliner on her nose and she draws whiskers. She also does a pretty good cat face. We have a book at home on making faces with makeup that she uses. So she’s already very good at applying makeup! She’s an early beginner!

What is the one makeup product you can’t live without?
Mascara, because I like to bring attention to my eyes. Full lashes are like frames to your eyes and they help bring out the color. I wear it all the time, even when I go to the grocery store!

What is your everyday routine for makeup?
Moisturizer, mascara and lip gloss. That’s the minimum I wear. I keep it simple.

Ali Landry showed off her svelte figure at the NYC premiere of Bella at the Tribeca Cinema series screening, but the mother of 3-month-old Estela believes “I still have a way to go,” she tells OK! “I just decided I was going to be patient and to enjoy the process and not worry about hurrying up to get back into shape.”

Instead she is enjoying this precious time watching her daughter grow with her husband of over a year, Alejandro Monteverde. “She is laughing and interacting,” Ali gushes about her bundle of joy. “It melts my heart.”

Before the former Doritos girl became pregnant, she and her husband — who directed Bella — had their meals delivered, a practice she continues as she works to shed the baby weight. “My husband and I fight over the meals — they are so good,” the former Miss Louisiana Teen USA explains. As for the name of their daughter, there was no arguing there. Estela Inez was named after both Alejandro’s grandmother and Ali’s.

Bella is in theaters nationwide on October 26.

Ricki Lake showed off a newly trim figure at a charity event in Los Angeles on Thursday, and credits a strict exercise regimen for the transformation.

“I think I had [that muscle] under all that fat all those years. I think it was just there,” Lake told PEOPLE at the Choose Your Cause Launch Party and Charity Benefit at Fred Segal Fun in Santa Monica.

Her secret? “I work out with a trainer three days a week,” she said.

Lake, who is single, dated a personal trainer after her 2004 split from husband Rob Sussman. But don’t expect similar sparks to fly this time.

“He is totally hot, but he’s 25, and I have to draw the line at 30,” said Lake, who is 39. “Thirty is like my starting point.”

Besides, she said, she isn’t actively looking to jump back into a relationship. “I’m just starting dating, and I’m not desperate, and I’m not lonely,” she said. “I’m really happy being alone.”

In most recent project, Lake serves as executive producer on a new documentary, The Business of Being Born, about the maternity care system in America.

“It looks at all that from my own personal experiences,” says Lake, who has two sons with Sussman. “It’s fascinating.”

This whole Demi Moore/Bruce Willis/Ashton Kutcher love-fest has always seemed a bit suspicious to Us. “Why should they be successful, attractive, and well-adjusted?” we had to wonder.

But here it is at last — conclusive proof that even Demi and Bruce are Just Like Us(!).

At lunch together on Thursday in Los Angeles, Moore was caught chatting on her cell throughout the meal. The slight forced Willis to look around the restaurant critically, as if to say to fellow diners, “Don’t pity me. I’m busy too.” (Our guess? He was pretending to case the joint, John McClane-style.)

If only Kutcher had been outside the eatery, jealously spying on the pair with binoculars. Then all would be right in the world!

Despite the reality television weekly magazine’s reports that Lindsay Lohan will host a New Year’s Eve party at LAX in Las Vegas’ Luxor Hotel, a rep for the venue tells OK!, “We only know that Paris and Nicky Hilton are hosting the NYE party at LAX, and as far as I know they’re the only hosts.”

Would the Hilton sisters really want to share billing with Lindsay, with whom they’ve had a hot-and-cold relationship on the best days?

Prior to entering rehab, Lindsay had a deal to host her 21st birthday at Pure Nightclub in Vegas, a club under the same management as LAX. According to the reality television weekly magazine’s report, hosting NYE at LAX would fulfill Lindsay’s contractual obligations since she cancelled the birthday party. A rep for Pure tells OK! they haven’t heard anything about Lindsay hosting NYE at Pure either.

On her way into the Beverly Hills Hotel earlier in the day Wednesday, Britney Spears was snapped with an open purse that contained a box for the prescription medicine Provigil, the brand name for Modafinil, a drug prescribed mainly for treatment of the sleep disorder narcolepsy. (See below for large image.)

According to the site for Provigil, it is “a medication to treat excessive sleepiness caused by certain sleep disorders. These sleep disorders are narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome, and shift work sleep disorder.”

So, unless the pop star is suffering from one of these afflictions, why would she possibly take Provigil? While it is not known yet why Britney would take the medication, or if she even is taking it, some doctors have prescribed the drug for treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), while there are others who believe that Provigil is a so-called “smart drug” that can actually enhance the brain’s cognitive ability. Modafinil has even been used experimentally to treat addiction to cocaine.

Meanwhile, Britney’s attorney tells OK! that he is planning to enter a not-guilty plea on the singer’s behalf Thursday morning to a charge of not possessing a valid driver’s license.

Attorney Michael Flanagan also says, “We do have what appears to be a resolution” of an associated hit-and-run charge in connection with the singer’s Aug. 6 collision with a Mercedes parked in a Los Angeles carpark. “The hit-and-run case is basically over,” he adds. “I just got through talking to the city attorney and now I’m going to talk to Britney.”
