After a stormy winter, Bridget Moynahan finally had a reason to smile this summer — she gave birth to her first child, John Edward Thomas Moynahan, on Aug. 22 and the new mom proudly shows off her brown-haired, brown-eyed bundle of joy in OK! this week.

The 36-year-old split from John’s father, Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots quarterback, and Gisele Bundchen’s current squeeze, Tom Brady, 30, in December before announcing her pregnancy a few weeks later, leaving many wondering how she will handle her new role as a single mom-to-be.

Newlyweds Usher and Tameka Foster are going to have a boy, he revealed to PEOPLE Tuesday.

When asked what he is looking forward to most about being a new dad, Usher, 28, said his desires are pretty basic.

“I just want my son to fully be coherent and to be healthy, first and foremost,” he told PEOPLE at the USHER for Men and USHER for Women fragrance launch party at Cipriani in Manhattan.

“I’ve found that it is a step-by-step process. You can wish for a million and one things. But I hope that my son has the same energy I had as a child,” Usher said. “Hopefully, he won’t be as bad as me. I hope that he’s just a healthy son.”

Usher is already getting what he hopes for, considering he announced, “I want it to be a boy,” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in August.

On that same show he also gave some hints about what he’d name his male progeny. “If it’s a boy, I’m going to name him Usher,” the musician – full name Usher Raymond – said. “I’m hoping to name him that. I’ve been playing with a few names. I’m the fourth. Usher Raymond IV. I just want to pass the name on. Maybe I’ll change the middle name.”

Mom-to-be, Foster, 37, told PEOPLE she’s feeling “beautiful” but having odd cravings.

“I eat ice all day,” she said. “It’s a weird thing. I love it. Now I’m thinking about ice. I want to find some ice.”

Foster also admits that while she’s aiming for a natural birth, it might not happen.

“I don’t want drugs,” she said. “I’ll try. I say that now. You call me about ten hours into labor. I’ll be asking for everything. Vicodin and everything.”

Also on hand was Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton, who has reportedly clashed with Foster. Patton did not attend their wedding, but is looking forward to the couple’s birth. “I’m very excited about being a grandmother,” she said.

After more than a year of coy answers from Ashlee Simpson regarding her May 2006 nose job, her father Joe has finally confirmed that his daughter went under the knife.

In an interview with Fox News, Joe says he had no control over Ashlee’s decision to undergo rhinoplasty.

“Girls have their own ideas,” he shrugged. “Anyway, there was a real problem with her breathing and that was cured.”

Joe, who also serves as manager to Ashlee, 22, and her sister Jessica, 27, credits good parenting as the reason his daughters haven’t gone the way of Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears.

“We have a real family,” he said. “You can’t just put these kids out in the world and they’re on their own. I can remember a time when Jessica was singing at Madison Square Garden and her outfit ripped before she went on. We were there for her.”

And then there was Ashlee’s Saturday Night Live debacle.

“She’d lost her voice, and Jordan Schur [then the head of her record label] insisted she lip-synch,” he said. “She’d never done it before. She didn’t want to do it. Anyway, she’ll never do it again. We just did a huge tour, and there was no lip-synching.”

The former Baptist minister also denies claims that he’s a controlling father. “I don’t tell my girls who to date or marry or what to do.”

He also has no hard feelings against former son-in-law Nick Lachey.

“I have nothing against Nick,” he told me. “But they got married very young. I told Jessica, ‘You’re going to hit an age when it’s all going to be clear to you — life that is — and you’ll know what you want to do.’”

Joe added: “I do blame 50 percent of their break-up on the media.”

All those recent reports that Jennifer Lopez is three months pregnant? The star says don’t believe them. “No, no! We get this every week!” Lopez told Us at the September 20 party in London for her upcoming album, Brave.

Indeed, since marrying Marc Anthony, 39, in 2004, Lopez, 38, has been dogged by endless mom-to-be rumors. “I don’t mind when people talk about this,” she continued. “I get the interest. I’m not the only [celeb] who gets these rumors.” But the newest spate seems to have staying power — despite Anthony issuing his own denial: “Everyone calls about this every month . . . but, no.”

And the entertainment entrepreneur had U.K. media abuzz when she turned up at the bash in a flowy dress and drank water. Baby or no, Lopez, who launches her tour with Anthony in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on September 28, has plenty to smile about: “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”

Considering the pending hit-and-run charges filed against Britney Spears, and the revelation that she did not have a valid California driver’s license at the time of the August 6 incident (click HERE for the second-by-second pics!) many are asking “Why is she still on the road?”

To answer this question, OK! went straight to someone who could answer that question, City Attorney Rockard Delgadillo, who explains that the lack of a valid license at the scene of the accident was “a secondary charge” and all “charges that were filed were based on the August 6th incident,” implying that Brit has had some time to fix her situation at the DMV.

With Delgadillo explaining that “there would need to be another infraction” for Brit to get pulled over, the pop princess is apparently clear to hit the roads of California. For now, at least.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are making the most of their time in New York: The high-wattage couple have packed their schedules for Wednesday, meeting with diplomatic and financial leaders to promote various causes.

The first stop of the day… The Clinton Global Initiative, where Pitt asked for support for his Make It Right program. He’s partnering with billionaire Steve Bing on the project, which plans to build 150 affordable – and environmentally sustainable – homes in New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward. Pitt and Bing have each promised to match donations pledged during the initiative up to $5 million.

In the afternoon… Jolie is slated to attend a press conference with United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Antonio Guteres, to talk about a new campaign, Nine Million, aimed at improving education for refugee children around the world.

Then in the evening… Jolie, a Goodwill Ambassador for the U.N. refugee agency, is scheduled to speak at a session focused on education for children in war-torn areas such as Darfur and Iraq.

The busy day of high-powered goodwill work is hardly unusual – Pitt is already working with Global Green to create environmentally friendly housing in New Orleans, while Jolie has done extensive work in her role at the United Nations.

In was also announced Tuesday that Jolie would meet with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband in New York to discuss global diplomacy.

And if that’s not enough, Pitt’s doing a little acting, too: He’s filming Burn After Reading, which costars his pal George Clooney.

It’s not the typical sort of hot spot she’s used to, but Paris Hilton says that she’s planning to hit the road to Rwanda.

Apparently making good on her post-jail promise to help others, the socialite, 26, tells E! Online about her African ambitions, “I’ll be going in November, after I get back from filming my movie. There’s so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help.”

Though a trouble spot of notorious proportions – an infamous 1994 genocide in Rwanda claimed about a million lives (in a nation of 9 million) – the country’s multitude of problems doesn’t seem to worry Hilton, who vows to pay calls upon a variety of beleaguered regions.

“I want to visit more countries where poverty and children’s issues are a big concern,” she says. “I know there’s a lot of good I can do just by getting involved and bringing attention to these issues.”

Hilton reportedly will visit Rwanda at the invitation of Scott Lazerson, whose year-old Playing for Good charity assists celebrities and high-profile business personalities in getting involved with organizations that benefit those in need.

Hilton’s Rwanda trip will also cap a busy September, during which she’s been in Toronto filming her upcoming movie Repo! The Genetic Opera, partying at the MTV Video Music Awards in Las Vegas and hitting a slew of Emmy parties in Los Angeles.

The unattached Hilton, who recently has been seen with Entourage star Adrian Grenier, insists that the actor is not a romantic interest.

All this week she’s been spotted with Alex Vaggo, a model-esque Swede.

Seems like Pink’s marriage may be fading to black.

Although the singer’s hubby of 21 months, motocross star Carey Hart, 32, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in August that “everything’s fine” between the two of them, Us has learned that the couple’s itching to ditch their union. “We’re just not getting along anymore. We each need our space. We need our distance. It’s not like it was when we first started,” Pink, 28, was heard telling a tableful of friends on September 14 at West Hollywood hot spot Eleven.

Additionally, a pal of her husband’s told Us, “Carey is tired of her always accusing him of cheating, and he’s fed up with the constant arguing. He says he cannot deal with her anymore. It’s his decision to put an end to this. They are 100 percent getting a divorce.”

(Pink’s rep calls the report “complete bulls–t.”)

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Aniston got married on September 21 in L.A.’s San Pedro neighborhood. And the matchmaking credit goes to…the upcoming romantic comedy He’s Just Not That Into You, in which they play a longtime couple grappling with commitment issues.

“Jennifer is perfect for the role because there’s no coldness to her,” producer Nancy Juvonen tells Us. “She’s so real.”

And how is the chemistry with the new Bennifer? “They are fabulous and touching,” Juvonen says: “I can’t believe no one’s put them together before.”

For the actors, the sure-to-be-a crowd-pleaser (which also stars Drew Barrymore and her current squeeze, Justin Long, and is based on the 2004 bestseller) is the latest stop on their comeback tours: Aniston last appeared onscreen in the 2006 hit The Break-Up, and Affleck is receiving early Oscar buzz for his directorial debut, Gone Baby Gone (out October 19). Says a source, “They are having a great time working together.”
