Salma Hayek’s Baby Shower

Salma Hayek at the Foundation CINI Party in Venice, Italy on June 8, 2007.

Bring on the booty! Mom-to-be Salma Hayek, 41, cleaned up at the August 15 baby shower held at her home in the Hollywood Hills.

The nine-months-pregnant Hayek (dad is her fiancé, Francois-Henri Pinault, 45, CEO of luxury goods company PPR) even received doubles of several gifts off her registry at L.A.’s NoMi Boutique. She got Petunia Pickle Bottom Cake bags in both black ($325) and pink ($425), as well as two Bloom high chairs ($400 each) and Graco Snug Ride car seats ($130 each). “She was very excited about everything,” said Pia Lindstrom, who attended the party, where guests – including Hayek’s mother – enjoyed homemade Mexican food.

“She was full of pregnancy glow and looked so happy.”

For Hayek, the baby can’t come fast enough. “Motherhood is not for everyone,” she has said. “It is for me.”

And though Hayek has not yet announced whether she’s expecting a boy or a girl, think pink: A source says gift cards were made out to “Valentina.”

Details From Brit and K-Fed Custody Hearing Released

Documents from Monday’s Federline v Spears hearing were released today after both parties agreed on what elements to remove from public record.

At the August 27 hearing, lawyers for Britney Spears asked a judge for a continuance on the former couple’s custody case in order to give both parties more time to “conduct and complete their discovery.” Kevin Federline is seeking primary custody of sons Sean Preston, 23 months, and Jayden James, 11 months.

In her letter to the court, Spears’ attorney Laura Wasser says that Kevin Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, had scheduled depositions with the subpoenaed witnesses despite being aware that she would be unable to attend. Additionally, Wasser submitted a letter written to Kaplan on August 15 asking for the offices to cooperate in “the service of third-party subpoenas,” explaining that it would eliminate “the need for either office to chase potential witnesses, which would only cause more unnecessary fees and unwanted media attention to this matter.”

The letter was written after lawyers for Federline had served Alli Sims, Daimon Shippen and Shannon Funk.

In Kaplan’s opposition to Wasser’s request for a continuance, he claims he had already offered a continuance, under certain restrictions, which was rejected by Spears’ team. Kaplan also states that Spears did not attend a scheduled deposition on August 20 because her lawyer was on vacation. Despite requesting that the meeting be rescheduled, Kaplan alleges that he never heard back. He goes on to accuse Wasser of “stonewalling” the discovery with her difficult schedule.

The documents reveal that in addition to the witnesses already served, Federline’s team plans to subpoena Christine Hallet, Spears’ former nanny, and Dr. Betty Wyman, her “designated sober companion.”

Finally, Kaplan requests that Spears cover Federline’s legal expenses, citing her average monthly income of $737,868 dollars, and the imminent end of Federline’s $20,000 dollars a month in spousal support, on November 15, 2007. According to the documents, Federline “has no net income after business expenses.”

A decision on the request for continuance will be made when both parties are next in court, on September 4.

Britney Spears’s Album Out Nov. 13

Britney Spears’s long-awaited comeback single, “Gimme More,” has finally arrived, and Jive records tells PEOPLE exclusively that the album is scheduled for a Nov. 13 release.

The club-friendly dance track officially premiered Thursday night on New York radio station Z-100’s Web site.

The song’s official debut came just minutes after versions of it were leaked to at least two other Web sites, Perezhilton and TMZ.

“The track that leaked is off of Britney Spears’s forthcoming album. The song is “Gimme More,” produced by Danja, [and is] written by Nathaniel “Danjahands” Hills, James Washington, Keri Hilson, Marcella Araica,” a Jive Records spokesperson told PEOPLE.

The song features the pop star’s signature breathy vocals, melodic electronic bleeps over a driving beat and a catchy hook that’s is true to the song’s title. Spears opens the sexy and sassy tune by defiantly saying, “It’s Britney, b—”, and producer Hills ends it in a shout out, saying, “Bet you didn’t see this coming.”

On Wednesday, news of the single’s imminent release, which comes from the singer’s fifth studio album, was reported by Entertainment Weekly.

Also on Wednesday, singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, who wrote several potential songs for Spears, told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show “[Britney has] gotta remind people why they love her in the first place. She’s gotta get their minds off her personal life and back on the music.”

Over the last several months, Spear’s personal struggles, including a stint in rehab and the ongoing custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, have all overshadowed her career.

Still, in May, she performed several live shows in Los Angeles and Florida – during which she performer her old material. Since then, the singer has been seen taking dance classes and shooting a music video.

Up next for Spears: She is scheduled to host the opening of LAX nightclub in Las Vegas on Friday. It’s not clear yet on if she plans to perform at the event.

Tom Cruise Breaks Silence Over German Film

Tom Cruise as Claus Graf Schenk von Stauffenberg

Tom Cruise has broken his silence and is defending his controversial role as the German colonel famous for a failed attempt to kill Adolf Hitler.

“All I can say is, ‘Save your comments until you see the movie,’ ” Cruise, 49, tells the German weekly, Bunte, regarding the German politicians and media who have attacked his religious beliefs and his decision to play one of Germany’s greatest heroes in his new movie Valkyrie.

“I want to think positive and concentrate on the film,” the actor says in the magazine. “I carry a great responsibility to the Germans, for whom a man like [Colonel Claus Graf Schenk von] Stauffenberg means so much.”

“And I feel this responsibility to the man himself. The more I learn about him, the greater my respect and my admiration of him,” he adds about his character in the wartime thriller surrounding a failed plot by high-ranking military officers to blow up Hitler. Stauffenberg was the man who placed the bomb.

Cruise also reveals that when director Bryan Singer approached him about the role, he tossed a script on his desk with a picture of Stauffenberg on the cover. Says Cruise, “Intuitively I saw a similarity in the profile of this man with myself. Naturally that’s something that makes an actor curious.”

And he insists that filming had to take place in Germany. “We wanted the inner truth, so to speak, and location helps with that.”

Cruise says that he enjoys living in Berlin with wife Katie Holmes and daughter Suri. A personal highlight is Berlin’s Tiergarten park. “To my great delight I’ve discovered that my family and I can walk in the park at night and it’s not dangerous. Fantastic.”

David Beckham to Miss Six Weeks with New Injury

Time to mend it like Beckham.

David Beckham, the British soccer import who seems to have spent more time on the trainer’s table than the field, will now be out for about six weeks with a sprained ligament in his knee, the Los Angeles Galaxy announced Thursday.

The midfielder, who previously nursed an injured ankle that cost him playing time, got the bad news after he underwent an MRI exam and was evaluated by the Galaxy’s team physician. Beckham now begins rehab on the knee.

During the 30th minute of play in the Galaxy vs. CF Pachuca Superliga final at the Home Depot Center on Wednesday evening, Beckham suffered a fierce tackle on the left corner of the field. He went down hard and stayed down.

All in the stadium were on their feet as Beckham, 32, signaled to the bench for assistance. He limped to the sideline as a substitute stepped onto the field to fill in.

With the score tied 1-1, Beckham hobbled back onto the grass in the second half of overtime play. “I had to get back out there to cheer on the lads as much as I could,” he said after the game.

The Galaxy later lost in a penalty-kick shoot-out.

Tom has been in Berlin while he films Valkyrie this summer and the locals have helped bring TomKat even closer. “Katie has been very good for Tom,” a local tells OK!, “Public opinion towards him has changed because of her. Everybody loves her and those feelings have rubbed off on Tom.”

On August 28 Tom, 45, was spotted at a public autograph signing smiling and snapping pictures with his fans. It’s not just Katie, 28, rubbing off on Tom. Will Britney Flake on Latest Commitment?

Britney Spears is not known for her ability to keep a commitment. When OK! tried to sit down with her for an exclusive photoshoot and interview in July, she stayed only long enough to ruin or run off with $21,000 worth of designer duds before storming off.

She then pulled a similar stunt on Allure magazine, but it’s not only publications she has a hard time dealing with; there are a handful of widely reported musical commitments the pop star has made and broken. Former boyfriend Justin Timberlake was all set to do a duet with his ex, but she backed out. She left super producers Pharell and Scott Storch in the lurch after setting several appointments to work together. Recently, she balked on a commitment to collaborate with R&B hitmaker Ne-Yo.

Given Brit’s long-documented history of bailing out, the question remains: Will she even show up Friday night for a scheduled appearance at Las Vegas nightclub LAX?’

An insider tells OK!, “Britney is supposed to be paid double what she received for her New Years Eve appearance and has already been paid half her fee prior to showing up and will receive the other half after she completes her appearance. She has to stay for an allotted period of time at the club and cannot be photographed at any other clubs.”

Another problem is where to put up the pop princess. “They usually put them up where the club is but Brit doesn’t want to stay at the Luxor.” Her pal tells OK!, “She’s very picky and prefers to stay at The Palms or The Venetian only. Right now they’re figuring out the best place to put her. They want her at Luxor so they have a better chance at getting her from her room to the venue but Brit is being a brat and refuses to stay there.”

But the big concern is if Brit will even make it to her own party, “She’s not reliable at all. You have to tell her where to be and physically babysit her and make sure she goes.”

What is being done to make sure the princess of pop makes it to Vegas and attends her party, “Brit’s brother Brian has been a big part of making this LAX appearance happen.” According to an insider, “Brian is getting a percentage after Brit makes her appearance so he has a vested interest in making sure she goes through with her appearance.”

Another person pushing for Brit to honor her commitments is her new manager Jeff Kwatinez of The Firm. Jeff warned Britney not to back out of LAX and to behave herself while in Sin City. Pals of the Toxic singer tell OK!, “She’s not reliable but she hates disappointing people. She can pretend she’s in control all she wants but she’s a little girl who wants acceptance and to be praised by the few people she does let into her life.”

So what do you think? Will she show?

OK! Exclusive: K-Fed’s Parents In Trouble

The world’s most famous ex-husband Kevin Federline may have finally gotten his acting career in gear – thank you One Tree Hill – but his once ever-present family is not celebrating with him. OK! has learned exclusively that Kevin’s father and stepmother, Michael and Collette Federline, have just come through bankruptcy and have lost their home in Oceanside, CA.

The couple filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on January 31, listing no available assets. It was discharged on May 7. At the same time, the Federlines stopped paying the mortgage and property taxes on their four bedroom, two bath Oceanside, Calif., home. San Diego County tax records listed the property, Parcel No. 1623901100, as “Defaulted” with $6,094.74 owing.

OK! went to Oceanside in the hopes of speaking with the Federlines but found their home now abandoned with a lock box on the front door and the swimming pool green with algae and infested with mosquitoes. Neighbor Barry Lew tells OK!: “In late June while on my daily walk, I saw a notice on their front door. It was from a bank and said that they’d received no mortgage payments since January 2007 and that they had the right to take back the house in 30 days. They moved out the end of July, during the night I believe.”

Michael and Collette bought the house in June 2004, shortly after Kevin became engaged to Britney Spears. Public records show that they paid $485,000 for the place, with a $393,500 mortgage from Countrywide Home Loans. They refinanced with a different lender on January 13, 2006, taking out a second loan of $97,000, which they used in part to pay to put in the pool.

“They got in way over their heads,” a Federline family friend tells OK! “And I think they hoped Kevin would bail them out. But the days of him splashing thousands of dollars around to entertain his family ended when Britney filed for divorce.”

Britney Spears’s Former Manager Served in Custody Fight

Britney Spears’s former manager, Larry Rudolph, felt the burn during a visit to an L.A. tanning salon Thursday – he was subpoenaed in the singer’s escalating custody battle, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Rudolph “was served probably about 30 minutes ago,” said Erin Tietsort, the assistant manager at the Sunset Tan in West Los Angeles, on Thursday afternoon. “He’s employed here. He’s part-owner.”

Tietsort described the process server as a 5′8″ brunette in black slacks and a buttoned-up shirt.

“We asked her who she was but she just said she had a meeting with [Rudolph]. After he walked in he said, ‘Can I help you?’ and she just handed the papers and left. He had no idea. He then said [to himself], “Oh, okay. Yeah. They’ve been looking for me. This is for Britney Spears-Kevin Federline.’ I was like, ‘Really?’ And he just stared out the window. You could tell he wasn’t too happy about it,” said Tietsort.

Rudolph had tried not to get served because he felt his testimony under oath could hurt Spears’s case, Ryan Seacrest – who was in contact with Rudolph over the weekend – said Monday.

“He’s actually on the run,” Seacrest reported. “After all they have been through he is still loyal to her.”

Rudolph, whose subpoenaing was first reported by PerezHilton.com, is just the latest person handed a summons to appear in court in the pop star’s fight with ex-husband.

Spears’s former assistant Shannon Funk, bodyguard Daimon Shippen and pal Alli Sims have all been served in the past month.

Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is behind the subpoenas, which will be used to compel those close to Spears to discuss her parenting style. The custody battle over Sean Preston, 23 months, and Jayden James, 11 months, began on Aug. 8, when Kaplan filed for primary physical custody.

Also Thursday, rapper T-Pain came out in support of the singer and says working with Spears was so professional that the two of them were able to record three songs in a short amount of time.

“She came in there, shook my hand and went right into the booth,” T-Pain tells MTV News. “She was smiling the whole time. In an hour we had a song. … She was about her business.”

The rapper was equally impressed with her talent: “I sang it first and she sung over what I did … in key and everything!”

T-Pain is slated to appear on the MTV Video Music Awards, which Spears is reportedly working on a performance for with magician Criss Angel.
