Celebitchy covered the fashion of the premiere of He’s Just Not That Into You earlier today, but all of the actresses stopped to talk to the press on the red carpet. The interviews are much as you would expect. Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Connelly are polite, well-adjusted, and both seem grateful to not be in the dating game anymore.

Drew Barrymore, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jennifer Aniston had some of the more interesting things to say. Except that Aniston didn’t even go with the theme of the night by talking about bad dates, instead choosing to complain about her upcoming fortieth birthday. Drew talks about how in real life and in film, she loves to be surrounded gay men. Naturally. And Gennifer Goodwin still isn’t talking about her break-up with Chris Klein. Here are the details:

Newlywed Scarlett Johansson is thankful she doesn’t have to endure the torture of bad dates anymore.

“I’ve not really dated that much,” the He’s Just Not That Into You star said at the film’s premiere Monday night. “Though, I went on a blind date once and after the appetizer was over, I was like ‘Check!’ I mean, we had nothing in common and I was like ‘Oh no. I can’t sit here for another hour!’ He was definitely not my Prince Charming.”

Other stars of the film talked about their love lives and previous dating disasters.

Drew Barrymore, who also co-produced the film that opens Friday, says that women will relate to the film because it’s based in reality and is unlike any romantic comedy she has done before.

“I’m the character I played in the film. I’m surrounded in gay men and I’m single,” said Barrymore, who ended a relationship with co-star Justin Long last summer. “I love my gay men. That’s why I’m so happy! I don’t feel upset at all. I’m thrilled!”

Barrymore had difficulty coming up with a horrible dating tale. “I wish I had more of a funny awful date story,” said Barrymore, who wore a Lanvin dress and sported a new tongue piercing. “I had one with a lawyer and we both basically shook hands like at the beginning of the dinner and we were like ‘This is not working at all, right?’ That’s about the most unusual one I’ve had.”

Ginnifer Goodwin, who joked that she still hasn’t gotten it right with dating, said she considers her best dates horribly boring.

“The most romantic dates I’m ever taken on are dates when I go to meet the parents. I find it incredibly romantic. It beats flowers and balloons and candy. And surprise trips,” said Goodwin, who wore a burnt orange-colored Bottega Veneta gown. “By the way, I’m not saying I always enjoy that date, but it’s the most romantic!”

Jennifer Aniston, who’ll be celebrating her 40th birthday next week, was mum on any pending birthday plans.

“Big birthday coming up, yeah,” said Aniston who was dressed in a Burberry black pants suit. “I sure as hell hope I have a good time.”

Of all the storylines in the film, Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly said that Aniston’s stands out. In the film, Aniston is the live-in girlfriend of Ben Affleck’s character, a man who doesn’t want to get married .

“I think Jennifer Aniston’s storyline is quite moving and sweet,” said Connelly, who wore a sparkly green Balmain dress. “I like the characters in this film and … I really like that we get to see different women at different places in their lives.”

And as for her own dating or relationship horror stories?

“It’s such work for me to date back there and find a dating story. It was so long ago at this point,” said Connelly, who is married to actor Paul Bettany. “They’re all dates with my husband now and they’re all lovely.”

From USA Today

Jennifer Connelly and Paul Bettany are one of my favorite celebrity couples. They are just adorable together, and both of them look at each other like they both won the lottery. Drew Barrymore’s relentless optimism may grate on some people, but I enjoy a celebrity who isn’t in a constant state of bitter cynicism. The film is getting a lot “meh” reviews, but I bet a lot of girlfriends will be dragging their men to see this one over the weekend.
